Salvo Montalbano
That has the look of a very generic, off the shelf training kit straight out the Nike catalogue sadly for Blues fans. Thought they usually had a white stripe or band on their shirts?
bluearmyfaction
It's a hangover from the previous regime, which did a deal with a hopeless kit supplier, who can barely supply shirts for the first team let alone replicas. And indeed couldn't even do a royal blue for a while. In essence it offered five Nike templates and Ren Xuandong picked one. The change kit is an even more bog standard Nike template in red with black trim, but doesn't look too bad. The penguin stripe is not as common as you'd think, only from 1971 to 1975 and for occasional seasons afterwards. I'm not keen on it because it's usually too wide, especially to fit a sponsor.
Bully Wee Villa
I think the penguin strip was better, and gave them a more distinct identity than just being one of the many generic blue or red teams. Not happy about Clyde becoming a generic red team this season because we couldn't get a proper Clyde shirt.
bluearmyfaction
I'd be a fan of reviving the white V from the World War 1 era, would be distinctive (albeit Brescia have it too). Is it that hard for Clyde to get a white shirt? Bemusing.

Salvo Montalbano
What do folk think of as a quintessential Clyde kit? I'd say white shirts with red trim, black shorts and red socks but would be good to hear what you think.

Bully Wee Villa
Yeah, white shirt, black shorts, red socks is what I think of as a "Clyde shirt". Red trim on shirt optional. We have had a few to be fair, but that's been the standard for most of the recent (incredibly successful ) decades. Here's the email I got explaining this year's effort... For the first time in 60 years, Clyde will line up next season in a red home shirt, with the option of adding a fully bespoke white third-choice shirt later in the year. The new home shirt will be unveiled soon, but we are giving advance notice to our supporters as this was a decision largely taken out of the club’s hands. Regrettably, only one white top from a range of Puma shirt styles had stock availability for this season, and as we felt this style had too much black to be adapted to a traditional Clyde home shirt, the decision was made to go further back in our history to an all red shirt with white trim as was last worn in the glory years of the late 50s. An attempt was made at a semi-bespoke shirt, but we felt it fell short of what supporters expect and deserve from a replica Clyde top. This decision was taken in consultation with our main sponsor and kit supplier and has now been given clearance by the SPFL. The time taken to source a home top has had a knock on effect in delaying the announcement of the recent away shirt vote. We can now reveal that the preferred choice by the Owners from the selection offered was the Burgundy option. Both the new home and away kits will have their new season launches at the start of our League Two campaign, with the team playing in the 2022/23 kits for the forthcoming Viaplay Cup campaign. Having burgundy as an alternative to red is a lovely touch. Edited July 28, 2023 by Bully Wee Villa
djchapsticks
Definitely using the Decathlon Sports teamwear catalogue for these absolutely atrocious efforts.
Miguel Sanchez
Lots to take in for that Accies outfit. The thick stripes and black collar screaming 'Doncaster.' The logo on the shorts being in the middle of nowhere and looking very small. The socks looking like JJB own brand. No irons within a five mile radius of NDP.
ClydeTon
The Accies badge / manufacturer logo on the home shirt need to be either on the line between the Red and White hoop, or in the middle of the white hoop they're currently in. The weird freeform look it has just... isn't right.

Bert Raccoon
I doubt you'll get many Accies fans coming in to defend this absolute shambles tbh.

Surely,if this is genuine, they could have told puma to do one since they clearly are unable to fulfil their side of the bargain Or are Clyde at it?have they been bought over by the chap that once had Cardiff city?

We ended up with a plain white t-shirt last year as they couldn't provide the kit we wanted. Then for some reason we are having a maroon away kit with the red home one. The whole club is a shambles.
Barry Ferguson's Hat
We should just kit-share with accies.

Macron put the likes of Joma & Puma to shame, we've had 3 nice strips from Macron the past 2 seasons, the SonsTrust also helped choose the designs. I remember Joma couldn't even give us a correct gold colour at one point, or a design that wasn't on their shite catalogue.
