Jeff Venom
If Jim Duffy was brought in as an insurance policy it's because Hopkin brought him in as such, which would be a strange admission.I think we need to get away from this idea that David Smith is signing his own players and bringing in his own coaches.

Mind at Raith when he claimed society and social media were really to blame as he lead them to relegation despite the club looking relatively safe when he came in at the turn of the year. Nope. Raith were a shambles at the turn of the year. They then gave Gary Locke the January transfer window to make things worse by loaning Vaughan out to an immediate competitor. They sacked Locke just after the transfer window closed and appointed Hughes, who made nothing of it and spent most of his time trying to distance his own reputation from the car crash he inherited.

He's surely still due a hounding. Morton fans don’t like other people being happy. “Reluctantly” ? The tone of the announcement was far from reluctant
TxRover
18 minutes ago, Iain said: If there's going to be a permanent appointment you'd think they might want them in before the loan window closes. When is that? But the loan cupboard is likely quite empty, and I suspect it’s very unlikely they’ll replace Duffy before December. They’ll give him a couple of months to try to craft team from the jetsam and flotsam laying around Ayr right now and see how it goes. 12 games until December, that would leave the team at 16 games of 36…with 40 points the commonly accepted goal to avoid bottom two. That would suggest a goal of 15-18 points from the next 12 games is what Duffy would need to get to secure the position for the season. That would also give the BoD time to consider options, and make it more attractive to potential managers, since they could come in knowing what was in place and what the options were for the window.

honestly united
Not overly keen on Hughes either, but looking back at the shortlist last time, it was all various shades of meh except for the likes of Petrie that were never coming anyway. However Im pretty sure anyone on that list would have done better than Hopkin over the last 6 monts. Im ok with Duffy being in charge for a while as long as we make the right appointment this time
Superhursty7
I just hope we don't make the same mistake Morton did last year and run most of the season without making a appointment, not a fan of the caretaker to the end of the season guff especially when we are only 4 games in

I'm hoping there's still a few of these applicants kicking about from back when Kerr was dismissed.
