There was an old song doing the rounds a few years ago I think Ayr fans used many moons ago that was quite catchy, cant for the life remember it but would love to find out

You should sing the tune and upload it so we can all try and guess.

Good that they're giving it some thought. I'm not hugely inspired by any of the options but if you get it right and the fans buy in and join in it can really help with the atmosphere. Different demographic I know, but when one of my daughters was at university in the US they adopted Back Home by Andy Grammer at the college football and the entire crowd would join in.

Incidentally, did Queens Park run out to the theme from Local Hero or did I imagine that last weekend?

I know Newcastle run out to that.

They did. I'm sure another Scottish club used that tune in the past from memory, possibly Forfar. I was expecting more recent tunes from the lad to be honest.

Going by the press conference for these club anthems

Hi Ho Silver Lining - Aston Villa / Sheff Wed = No thanks

Daydream Believer - Only against Killie

I think we're alone now - Only relevent with Lawrence Shankland who no longer plays with our club

This needs a major rethink, Sham69 only one in my thoughts

When you watch the English games it's interesting how some of them have random anthems - Palace sing Glad All Over, Brentford sing Hey Jude, etc. Even up here songs like Sunshine on Leith or Paper Roses get whole crowds singing together.

It would be cool for Ayr to have something like that, but I'm not sure it can happen as an inorganic club-led initiative.

I have followed the club for nearly 24 years, and I have never once thought that the song that the team runs onto the pitch to had any importance whatsoever.

There hasn't been a decent atmosphere at Somerset Park outside of derbies for over twenty years. Some change would be welcome.
