Some clubs are proud of being affordable and not taking the piss with this kind of stuff.
They can’t really complain about season ticket sales, low attendances or poor food sales if they are actively holding supporters by the ankles and hoovering up everything that falls out their pockets.

Also seen on the SRE yesterday a lady had emailed the club about a few issues and received a reply.  One of the parts was about the sharp hike in catering prices.  The reply was more or less along the lines of they had looked across the board and seen the prices of other clubs and wanted to be in line with that.  Which is pretty lazy and poor.  Sure a pie last year was around £2/£2.50 to now £4.50.

4.50 fur a pie 🤣🤣🤣 If you pay that, you are a pie ffs! This captive audience thing has always baffled me, when prices are hiked tbh.... you'll sell more (of anything) at lower prices.... the stalls will gradually loose £. I get food costs and wages have went up a fair bit in the past few years... but that's a ridiculous price for a pie and makes the whole match day experience even more unaffordable to the average working person.

That's not fully accurate, they said they reviewed the prices of others and found us to be the cheapest in the league despite increases.

Can pedal that line if they want, however making around 200% profit on a pie they've bought in is mental.

See that someone has sent an email to the Scottish Minister for Sport about the prices for Saturday

I saw Kilmarnock were charging £30 for their powder keg, top of the table, guaranteed sell out game against the mighty Motherwell.

Their fans clapped like seals when they signed Van Veen and GMS, Billy Bowie had bottomless pockets.....

The Capri Sun cartel monopoly in Scottish football needs investigating.

And the other clubs are doing it line is tosh. Can't imagine what the other food items will cost. Be cheaper to get a Domino's delivered to the ground.

Haha, to be fair, it wasn't the usual shitty paper straw capri sun, was the twisty top.  They'll cotton on soon enough and increase that to a couple of quid.

Even by Rangers standards this is complete and utter waffle 😂. Spoken like a true Tory MP.

He's clearly just learned 2 new words and is spamming the hell out them.

Mathie take note of this balderdash masterclass.

I particularly like the way he drops in "nature abhors a vacuum" even though it doesn't make any sense in the context. Unless he thinks there's some kind of oxygen sapping vortex over Hampden.

Yeah, if you aren’t faster or stronger then you need to be smarter than defenders. I just don’t see anyway that Bryden makes it with us. Mark McKenzie isn’t a Championship level player but he gets by on a good understanding on his position and instructions. He sacrifices a lot for better players around him and that’s why managers like him.

Can I refer your good self ( and others who have adopted this mantra ) to the fourth goal against Stenny, where Mr. Bryden initiated the move AND provided the cross for Henderson.

Yes there are better players out there, and his 'header' towards the end of the Buckie game was poor, but there is room, and time, for improvement.

Mathie said that about gate prices a couple of years ago, he said he was bringing us in line with other clubs rather than saying - increase in operating costs, increase in energy prices etc.

As CEO, he needs to make the club more money but there are ways of doing it without blatantly fleecing the support.

This frustrates me as we look towards other clubs to justify putting prices up, but never look towards other clubs when thinking about some of our poorer pricing categories for young people and their free season ticket initiatives.

At least be consistent when benchmarking with other clubs, and don’t only use it when you think you can put some prices up.

Had a look last night at some prices for teams in Premiership and none other than Hamilton Accies main rivals are only £24 for an Adult for most games, they have the category A&B pish so is £28 I think for certain matches.

Ross County was the same or cheaper too.

Noticeably Livingston are cheaper than Accies too at £24 I think which is interesting since they're the team that's just come down.

Even Falkirk are cheaper, must be because of their 150,000 fanbase

Would be happy with Hamilton signing (if fit). Would surely see McMann shifted over to left back and you’d then have Stanger, Musonda, Hamilton and Devlin as your options for the middle which you can’t be too unhappy about.
