Does Ballantine, basically one of our best players, miss out then? Defensively that would be a disaster.

He would yes but at the moment he seems to be injured and hasn't managed to get going yet. I wouldn't be against having Ballantyne on the right side though as he comes with a good attacking reputation.

3-5-2 would be ridiculous. As mentioned, you’d hope he’s only considering it as a Plan B for extreme situations, like an injury crisis.

Paul Martin's favoured formation. Hardly any of the players knew how to play it.

Excuses at the ready.

New Shirts for ‘Loons’ at Dumbarton

Wednesday, 08 August 2018 09:37

Forfar Athletic have run into an early season hiccup with a couple of match officials and to be fair one of two players and fans having difficulty especially in sunlight distinguishing between our new home sky blue top and opponents in white.

The man in the middle at the Montrose fixture in fact reported the scenario to the SPFL who then requested that Airdrieonians did not wear their white shirts on Saturday past.

Consequently while the ‘Loons’ official second choice kit for the season will remain white shirts with navy shorts etc, the club have ordered up a set of navy/sky tops which will be worn with the white shorts and sky socks in at the very least the away games at Dumbarton and Airdrie to alleviate any problems.

Fully expecting Aidan Wilson to put in a prime Franco Baresi performance tomorrow.

Cammy Ballantyne out again for us, which is a pest. I've ever confidence in Andy Little to slot in and do a solid job in his place, though I'd imagine Stevie will start Perry over him.

Could we not have wore our red shirts? Save Forfar having to order new ones

Really looking forward to the first home league game of the season.

Good chance to make it 2 from 2 and give the home fans something to get behind. Would be great if we got a decent crowd and if the team could go some way towards getting the fans back onboard. A lot of the criticism last year was well deserved. Hopefully that can be turned around into well deserved praise.

Some serious questions to be asked and answered after that.

How many  questions do you need...the answers are always the same.A change is needed...we have the tools but just need someone who can put them to work in a traditional manner.SA thinks hes johann cruyff and can play folk out of position to get a result. If we had someone like Jim Mcintyre ( it will never happen) we would be so competitive in this league.Believe me at this rate we are relegation candidates as we totally stole 3 pts last week.tHAT WONT HAPPEN OFTEN.

Aitken won’t be sacked or walk, so it’s completely pointless (and far too early) to even contemplate it.

A string of baffling decisions today. Bringing Beanie on for Loy as soon as we go 2-0 down (and keeping Hutton and Carswell on) was really the icing on the cake. It’s almost like sticking two fingers up to the fans and being obtuse for the sake of it.
