HibeeJibee
Bump. Although the big day with 64 clubs in action isn't for another month, there are 5 ties on Saturday coming, to get the entry down to that number... Musselburgh, Lochar plus Civil Service will be favourites in their ties, while St Andrews v LTHV could be finely balanced, and given circumstances Selkirk v Upper Annandale is anyone's guess.St Cuthbert Wanderers v Musselburgh AthleticSelkirk v Upper AnnandaleSt Andrews Utd v Lothian Thistle HVCreetown v Lochar ThistleCivil Service Strollers v Wigtown & Bladnoch
HibeeJibee
Today's results:St Cuthbert Wanderers 0-3 Musselburgh Athletic Selkirk C-C Upper Annandale St Andrews Utd 1-4 Lothian Thistle HV Creetown 5-3 Lochar Thistle Civil Service Strollers 9-0 Wigtown & Bladnoch Shattering win for CSS, thumping wins for LTHV + Musselburgh, and Creetown progress. In theory Selkirk v Upper Annandale may go to a hearing IIRC but in effect a scratch.Second Round (Saturday 15th September)Lochmaben v Kelty HeartsEast Kilbride v Bo'ness Utd(Fri 14th) Cumbernauld Colts v Arniston RangersHawick Royal Albert v Burntisland ShipyardEdinburgh University v Oakley UtdInverkeithing Hillfield Swifts v CraigroystonGala Fairydean Rovers v Musselburgh AthleticDumfries YMCA v TynecastleBSC Glasgow v Edusport AcademyNithsdale Wanderers v Penicuik AthleticOrmiston v Easthouses LilyPeebles Rovers v DunipaceCivil Service Strollers v Upper AnnandaleEyemouth Utd v Dundonald BluebellBlackburn Utd v Bonnyrigg Rose AthleticDalkeith Thistle v University of StirlingColdstream v Newton StewartLinlithgow Rose v Heriot-Watt UniversityLTHV v SpartansVale of Leithen v Jeanfield SwiftsTranent v Haddington AthleticCrossgates Primrose v Hill of Beath HawthornEast Stirlingshire v Glasgow UniversityAbbey Vale v Broxburn AthleticBonnyton Thistle v Preston Athletic(Sun 16th) Tweedmouth Rangers v Leith AthleticEdinburgh Utd v Mid AnnandaleDunbar Utd v Newtongrange StarDalbeattie Star v SauchieCamelon v Heston RoversWhitehill Welfare v Gretna 2008Threave Rovers v Creetown
HibeeJibee
Bump. Biggest day in senior non-league football on Saturday coming with the Last 64 of the South Challenge Cup. Perhaps the most intriguing ties are those pitting LL v EOSL. After the LL clubs were largely massacred by their lower-league opponents in EOS Qualifying Cup R1, there will be much interest in how they fare here. Sides like EK, Cumbernauld, Spartans will start as favourites but Gala, Vale and Dalbeattie face stern tests while the universities both have intriguingly balanced games.East Kilbride v Bo'ness Utd(Fri 14th) Cumbernauld Colts v Arniston RangersEdinburgh University v Oakley UtdGala Fairydean Rovers v Musselburgh AthleticDalkeith Thistle v University of StirlingLTHV v SpartansVale of Leithen v Jeanfield SwiftsDalbeattie Star v Sauchie LL and EOSL teams will start as strong favourites in almost all these ties v SOSL opposition, including Coldstream who won comfortably at Newton Stewart in the Scottish Cup just a fortnight ago. High-fliers of Bonnyton v Preston looks hard to call, while Mid Annandale might fancy a shock in Colinton.Lochmaben v Kelty HeartsCivil Service Strollers v Upper AnnandaleDumfries YMCA v TynecastleNithsdale Wanderers v Penicuik AthleticColdstream v Newton StewartAbbey Vale v Broxburn AthleticBonnyton Thistle v Preston AthleticEdinburgh Utd v Mid AnnandaleCamelon v Heston Rovers There are also a number of intra-league clashes, almost all from EOSL:BSC Glasgow v Edusport Academy Whitehill Welfare v Gretna 2008 Hawick Royal Albert v Burntisland ShipyardInverkeithing Hillfield Swifts v CraigroystonOrmiston v Easthouses LilyPeebles Rovers v DunipaceEyemouth Utd v Dundonald BluebellBlackburn Utd v Bonnyrigg Rose AthleticLinlithgow Rose v Heriot-Watt UniversityTranent v Haddington AthleticCrossgates Primrose v Hill of Beath Hawthorn(Sun 16th) Tweedmouth Rangers v Leith AthleticDunbar Utd v Newtongrange StarThreave Rovers v Creetown Finally the home side will be firm favourites here:East Stirlingshire v Glasgow University
calmac25
It'll be interesting to see what the crowds are like for the later stages of this. I always thought a Bonnyrigg/linlithgow/ bo'ness junior cup final would have a much bigger crowd then the west teams get.

Down to the last 64 at present ? 6 possibly 7 rounds to win it sound familiar ? One thing I would like to think I can virtually guarantee is final won't be played in June nor Rugby Park as a venue but you just never know
HibeeJibee
Cumbernauld promoting the start of their defence of the South Challenge Cup... ... which is impressive given they lost at home to Vale of Leithen in R4 last season. HibeeJibee
Cumbernauld 4-0 Arniston Gulf in quality. Homesters spent much of first half camped in final third but couldn't score. I was waiting on Baden-Powell appearing with broomsticks, pith helmets and khaki serks. Second half a different story although Arniston's defence will be disappointed with #1 and #4. Neat free-kick for #2. Bizarre for #3... 'keeper stepped around a trundling effort, presumably thinking it was destined wide, but it was well inside the post.
