It doesn't seem normal, or a thing I remember happening before. Of course it’s a broad church, but the church has undergone significant renovation in the last few years and the left side has been effectively closed but to compensate the capacity on right side has been significantly increased, so nothing’s changed. The idea of another five years of the Tories makes me feel physically ill, and all Labour would learn from this defeat would be that they need to convince the public that they're more right-wing than the Conservatives. I'm by no means expecting them to be anything other than cosmetically better, but I can't abide the idea of voracious soul reapers like Braverman and Duncan Smith being further rewarded for the harm they've caused. Not sure what would need to happen for them to Kinnock this, though. Two of the panel of three who made the decision to bar Shaheen from standing have been parachuted into safe seats in the last 24 hours. You have an NEC and NCC who are finding spurious grounds to block candidates they have factional disagreements with then are selecting themselves as replacements. It's a blatantly corrupt process in a blatantly corrupt party. Aye, the whole premise of Starmer's Labour is the execution of the public's preferred Tory policies competently and without the melodrama. There is very little to suggest they will act as a progressive government.
