And to be less flippant (I really am), post Brexit when you boys are back living in the 1890s and seeing family members being put into work houses, I imagine "aye but Salmond is a beast" will be on your mind that much. If anything, it enhanced their reputation.

Salmond's arrest now takes some pressure off Sturgeon, Evans and McKinnon. Because the British State is really into standing up for Sturgeon . . . Sturgeon hired Leslie Evans and James Wolffe so presumably they have some loyalty to her.
Wee-Bey
Imagine being that desperate for allegations of this seriousness to be true, just so you can point score on the internet. Cretinous behaviour.

DeeTillEhDeh
I won't comment on guilt or otherwise - as others have said, these are serious charges that have to be dealt with appropriately. What I will say though is that those who try to use this as a club to beat the SNP and the independence movement with should be bloody ashamed of themselves.

I could be totally wrong, however I believe these charges and the timing to be politically motivated, however, if indeed he has carried out shocking acts against women then I hope he's found guilty and feels the full force of the law. I don't think there is a good time or bad time for these type of charges.

Both sides are filled with idiotic arseholes. I'm more concerned by those ones you mention actually. It's already been covered though that these people do more harm than good. Idiots slagging the SNP and Salmond on this ultimately won't make much difference.

Benjamin_Nevis
It's funny how this is all coming to light now ?? Must be the #metoo movement which has "inspired" them................... That's the problem with the snowflake generation, everyone is guilty without trial !!! Free country ? Democracy ? Don't make me laugh, the irony being that your lot while thinking your some sort of socialist free thinkers are in fact worse than many totalitarian dictatorships.............Pipe the f**k down you rapey weirdo [emoji38]

Very odd behaviour and they seem to have judged him as guilty immediately. Heard similar, except she claims to know he did it because she used to work in the Scottish Government. Looks like she could be the star witness for the prosecution.
Colkitto
You can see why Sturgeon distanced herself from Salmond. That's a horrendous charge sheet at this stage in the proceedings. The so called "spat" between Sturgeon and Salmond has probably done her a favour if the worst comes to the worst. The Yes movement is bigger than Salmond and Sturgeon too for that matter. The press will have a field day of course, but lets face it if you vote SNP your not going to suddenly go back to voting for Unionist parties because of this happening. Let the courts decide whether Alex id guilty or innocent and we'll get on with independence

Sturgeon has gone out of her way to play this with a straight bat, there is literally nothing in the public domain or even implied to date to connect her, or her government to the actions that Salmond is accused of. The movement, such as it is grew way beyond Salmond some time ago. While irony of ironies, as Mixufixit has already pointed out, Salmond's scalping in the last election destroyed whatever political capital he still had. The press will love this, but it's not like the press was going to go in and bat for Yes next time anyway. This. It will have a negligible effect. If Richard Leonard or Ruth davidson was caught doing similar, no-one would even mention the end of the unionist movement.
