EdTheDuck
Just now, Forest of Dean said: It wasn't taken into account because it was quite unexpected that we'd make the groups even by Rangers fans. They've taken into account for the final because they've made the assumption that Celtic will be in the final and also in European groups. You're absolutely right, they didn't take it into account. Contingency planning should have taken care of the possibility. Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibs were in the EL and unlikely though it was that any of them would reach the group stages the people in charge of our game should have considered that remote possibility. Although we are used to the absolute fudwhumpers in charge of our game getting wrong this omnishambles has even managed to surprise the most cynical among us. They’ve probably got a template set up and simply change the date of their latest braying outrage. To be fair to Budge, at least she has stood and tried to replace the SPFL’s current stewardship in the club vote. Aberdeen cry about the decisions but have done absolutely nothing to empty Doncaster or anyone else for years. Their statements are a smokescreen to their fanbase and nothing more. Strange argument you're putting forth. On the one hand you're telling Aberdeen to shut up and stop complaining and then you're railing against them for not doing more to change how things are being run? Regarding the Morton game it seems pretty sensible to suggest playing a game that ended up with 16k attendance at Easter Road or Tynecastle rather than a 2/3rds empty Hampden. Would have had a better atmosphere at the very least.

FFS! If we used that kind of whining in the criteria for scheduling matches there wouldn't be any played.

That was a Saturday that allowed people to choose their travel plans, multiple trains, buses etc. Also not knackering kids for going back to school on Monday. Just show a bit or perspective and admit it's a total cluster f**k that favours rangers and celtic. We need to start scheduling games with consideration for bairns getting to bed early for school now. .. fucking hell

Nowhereman
BT don't even pay £2m to cover the league cup each season. Is it really worth the disruption it causes?

It’s bizarre how subservient fans of the Glasgow two are to the tv companies given the relative pittance they give us. nsr
Magee is lonely and wants attention, that's all. I do wonder if there will ever come a time when actual match-going fans will decide they've had enough and the whole game will collapse. I can't help but suspect the big clubs would be quite happy to be funded entirely through TV audiences and dispense with the unwashed working classes parking their smelly arses inside the stadia. No one is discouraging kids from going to games you fucking flange, im merely highlighting the hypocrisy of, on one hand folk moaning about early kick offs being too early and later kick offs being too late, if you're not going to go to a game because getting home at 11.00 or so leaves junior sleepy for school the following day you are a fucking melt.
