Points worth noting.

Bacon has to be smoked and crispy as f**k.

Black pudding : Stornaway

Haggis : McSweens

Link Sausage . Pork with a bit texture . Good quality beef link also acceptable

Square Sausage . Steak

Eggs . Fried , ensuring the white is completely cooked , yolk medium/ runny

Beans: Heinz, cooked down until soft and most of the juice evaporated

Mushrooms : slow cooked in butter and dried on kitchen towel before serving

Tomato: 1 tomato halved cooked until soft and slightly well done on flat side .

Tattie Scone: Fried in bacon fat

Sauce: HP Brown

Eta. A slice of fruit pudding is an acceptable addition

Could live with that but the dumpling can gtf.

Slice of polony perhaps.

Cadora Cafe in Tarbet serves an excellent breakfast .( square sausage is under the toast )

All of this for £6.00

Only slight criticism was beans were a bit too runny and tomato not cooked enough.

Smokey bacon can f**k off. Leaves me with a terrible thirst.

That's why you have a pint with it. On that point, there's something incredibly enjoyable about having a beer with a cooked breakfast.

On the topic of disgraces to a cooked breakfast, do not be fooled by the claims of 'Bury black pudding' to be some sort of high-quality product  Presumably dreamt up during the war to use up spare sawdust, it has less than 3% fat content - which means that under the heat it turns into a completely dry, tasteless biscuit. A shan black pudding for shan, Brexit Britain.

there's a place called pateley bridge in yorkshire,  just north of harrogate, which is the centre of the black pudding universe; it has two independent family-run butchers, about two hundred yards apart at either end of the high street, and they enter all the local agricultural shows, village fetes and other competitive-type things vying for supremacy, mostly based on black pudding based superiority; one of them also makes a ludicrous selection of pork pies, including ones with both mushy pea and black pudding "toppings" in 'em; the pub also serves theakston's old peculiar on draught which - so a friend advises - has the ability to render some folk incapable of walking, holding a conversation or safely negotiating just three simple steps up to the front door of their cottage without falling over...

obviously, what with bury being in lancashire an' all, everything from there is absolute shite; their black pudding inadequacy does not surprise me...
