Killie v Motherwell

Recommended Posts

Brilliant, Killie still profiting though and I would hope most Well fans don't take up the club's offer as it shouldn't be costing them.

So it shouldn't be costing Motherwell but it's fair to expect us to cover it? The real p***ks here are the ones making the teams play the game at short notice when neither wants to but they'll allow Celtic and rangers to go gallivanting for friendly games and rearrange league matches at their request

It's your home game...

That not how it works?

That’s a sound gesture but honestly £5 is probably worth it for not having to bail out of work early to pick a fiver up at Fir Park.

That's surely why it's a no brainer. How many folk will actually take them up on the offer?

Unsporting Motherwell get a bunch of goodwill and positive press off the back of the gesture while the reality is unless you live within walking distance of Fir Park it's a false economy to take them up on the fiver so the outlay is probably going to be minimal.

It's just good PR and makes for good optics for a fan owned club.

How are you out of pocket twice? You aren't refunding the money spent last night?
The costs of running the game and the waste of money from our trip, admittedly it's not the fans' fault but you can thank the decision makers for rearranging a date when neither club wants it

And there wouldn't be costs if the game was on an alternate midweek?

If Killie weren't going to honour the vouchers why even hand them out in the first place?

Of course there would, we'd still be out of pocket though. I'd assume the tickets were handed out as we were happy to cover the costs for the rearrangement on the basis that it wouldn't be Saturday when we had already made expensive plans and Motherwell obviously didn't want to play

And if your club hadn't been total dicks on 2 occasions we may have honoured the tickets handed out last night......

We asked for the original game to be switched to this Saturday coming, weeks ago, but Motherwell didn't want to switch, so we brought forward the clubs flights to Teneriffe from Monday to Friday, now Well have decided they do want to play on Saturday, backed up by the SPFL, despite us suggesting 2 alternate dates within the next month.

How could you have asked for the switch weeks ago when you weren't out the cup until last midweek?

Yup, fair whiff of shite around this post.

Were those 45 minutes meaningless at the time you watched them?

I very much doubt Killie will be profiting from this game.

The 45 minutes were meaningless as a game leads up to a result and we didn't get that. Compare it to being at the cinema and the projector breaks down half way through the film. Would you accept having to pay a part of the standard entrance fee on a return visit because you'd already watched some quality acting? Would you be looking for a refund on the basis you had seen the ending? Spoiler - the big bad Motherwell player did it.

I accept and understand that Kilmarnock will be out of the pocket over this but that unfortunately is the way football normally works with the only exception I can think of being Dundee United charging Rangers fans full whack for a re-arranged game. Over the years I have been at various abandoned games - St. Johnstone (snow), Falkirk (Brockville's crappy floodlights packed it in and they gave out thousands of tickets), Arbroath (wind) and a few games at Fir Park (small fire and local power cut spring to mind) and free entry for the attendees was offered on each occasion. It's a disappointing course of action  and possible precedent (ignoring the one-off of Dundee United just trying to get it up Rangers) for other clubs in the future.

Do you not have any comment on Kilmarnock riding rough-shod over their own terms and conditions?

6.2.3. Matches may be postponed, abandoned or relocated (for example, due to pitch or weather conditions or other circumstances outside Kilmarnock FC control) and Kilmarnock FC will have no liability to you in these circumstances. You should retain the Ticket you were originally issued. Subject to Clause 6.2.4, you will be entitled to attend the re-arranged Match using the same Ticket; and
6.2.4. Matches may, occasionally, require to be played behind 'closed doors' meaning that no spectators are allowed to attend.

Is the club going to try to be pedantic and say that we didn't use these tickets to get into the stadium in the first place? At the moment they don't seem to be saying anything and probably won't knowing that it will just blow over. I'm not that bothered by the £5, it's more the principle of Kilmarnock completely ignoring their own terms and conditions which they'd use in a flash if it suited them - the back of the tickets issued last night even state

"In the event of the game being postponed o rearranged for any reason, the ticket will be valid for the altered date or kick-off time".

If some twats didn’t take the piss by grabbing more than their entitled voucher then maybe the vouchers would still have stood.

I took 4. And I have a season ticket.

Sue me.

True - but double travel costs are a factor too...

This is getting close to the correctly ridiculed “long trip to Hamilton” that some of our fans were guilty of last year.
