Comrie
If Cove do sign McCallister, surely having him and Megginson up front is taking the piss in League 2?
Muzza81
While you may be right what’s the basis behind them both scoring loads in L1? I read RM has 4 goals this season, not sure if any are penalties. MM has struggled at that level previously as well. A 33 year old, completely uninterested Rory McAllister playing at a level he doesn’t stroll isn’t exactly mouthwatering. He will end up at Cove on about £600 a week though and more fool them.

Agreed he’s getting on a bit but some strikers, not many I must admit, have flourished until 35+ He’d be streets ahead of Jimmy Scott and Jordan Brown

I don’t like Hartley’s dodgy signings like Aird either. Glad he’s gone to be honest and hope we don’t make any future signings who have had background.
1320Lichtie
Would take weetoonlads post with a pinch of salt, it was only the other day he assured everyone that the rearranged Alloa v Arbroath tie would not take place a week on Tuesday For it to be announced that the game would indeed take place a week on Tuesday I was actually convinced McAllister would be going to Cove until he said that his 'contacts' had told him that

Utter Roaster
As someone who used to watch Cove fairly regularly, I can only assume thinking about spunking money on McAllister is because they think that, after years of racking up cricket scores against the Fort Williams and Lossiemouths of this world, they should be entitled to do it in League 2? What they are sorely in need of is defenders cos at the moment the ones they've got are pish/being played out of position/think they're on FIFA so can waltz into the opposition penalty area whenever they like/all of the above. If Annan had the pumping they gave Cove on tape, they'd make a killing selling it to the other 8 teams as they seem to be the only ones so far to realise that getting it right up them is the way to go rather than gawping at the popstar wage packets. But then a couple of seasoned lower league centre halves is hardly likely to get the P&J's sports editor's knickers moist...
Bring Back Paddy Flannery
Who actually bank rolls Cove? I'm assuming the chairman or someone just chucks money at it? The wage bill must be eye watering for League 2.

Hartley too but at the same time I'm sure he'll be flush and would want back into management. We lost Blair Yule because he was from Aberdeen and couldn't do the travelling. All the best part time players from Aberdeen and the surrounding areas will be at Cove. Understandable that they have a solid part time side. They obviously look like they'll have the highest wage packet but I'm not sure it'll be as bad as everyone makes out. Rory McAllister (from Aberdeen too) at this stage of his career getting to train and play in Aberdeen all season aside from 18 away league games is ideal..

Aird will have been on a massive wave as well. Guys like Masson and Redman will be on pretty good wages too but not eye watering. I agree with some of what you say though. I don’t think the difference in waves between them and Edinburgh will be that great.
BB_Bino
It’s a no brained for Cove. McAllister obviously has something lined up, one last pay day before he packs it in. Unless that’s coming via full time football, which I doubt, then let’s be honest and say that Cove, Alloa & Arbroath are probably the only other teams that could match or even better what he is allegedly on at Peterhead. With him being Aberdeen based as well, I think even Stevie Wonder can see what’s going on here. Fair play to Cove, there’s not a club or a fan base in League 1 or 2 that wouldn’t want him.

Fraser Fyvie, Jordon Brown, Mitch Megginson, Blair Yule, Stuart McKenzie, Harry Milne, Ryan Strachan, Scott Ross, Jamie Redman, Jamie Masson, Connor Scully and Allan Redford all from Aberdeen. Only had a quick look but there only seems to be a couple of players, Jimmy Scott, Daniel Higgins and Tom Leighton plus obviously the loan guys. That's outstanding to be honest. Basically a whole team from their own city, Rory would be another one. Whereas Peterhead have been getting guys from all over the country in recent seasons. A load of guys from Ayrshire etc. Fair play to Cove. That's an advantage they have over the Glasgow and Edinburgh and even central belt clubs to an extent and they should use it. ETA: obviously becomes a disadvantage if the part time players in that area are poor. But with Aberdeen offcasts and Highland League players they should manage fine.
Ray Patterson
They also receive a large amount in Corporate money/sponsorship due to it being Aberdeen, and they probably get the highest crowds of any PT side, bar Arbroath.
