It seems Johnson is the only one who can give the Conservatives a majority in an election. This isn't good.

What is good is that in every scenario the SNP get 56 seats.

Rory Stewart gives us a Brexit Party government.

Current voting intention has the SNP taking one more seat than the maximum number of Scottish seats available.

Liz Truss was on Today trying to make the case for Johnson, she got ragged dolled by John Humphries who brought up that he was lying about affairs and got sacked from cabinet, has an illegitimate wean, how he made up facts about the detained Iranian woman and asked a journalist to beat some bloke up. He didn't even mention drugs or casual racism. She just said no one wants to know about that stuff and that he is a great guy who will save the world.

Polling on hypotheticals and then using a pretty poor programme in electoral calculus to work out number of seats is not an accurate representation.

Boris's initial name recognition advantage is unlikely to survive any examination of his policies which are designed to appeal to a tiny subset of extreme voters.

Good thread here.

Boris Johnson allowed 6 questions after his campaign launch, he didn't answer a single one, just obfuscation and repeating his campaign speech.

Went down well with his fan club all the same.

Definitely going to be the next PM - to my way of thinking he's probably exactly what the English electorate deserve.

These c***s will never learn.

I actually thought that was a joke.

They're obviously so removed from reality that they don't quite understand that these very characters are exactly what's wrong with modern politics and why the political landscape is in the terrible state that it's in............

Boris only needs to convince the Tory membership as opposed to the electorate, this is a battle of who can come across as the most Conservative Conservative and who can tell them what they want to hear.

Common sense is now out the window, Theresa and Oli have seen to that, so that then rules out anyone coming across with genuine sensible policies as they're not interested anymore, they now want action and someone who talks a good game.

Voila, Boris.........................

Beth Rigby asking him a question about previous remarks he has made about Muslims - only for her to then be booed by Tory MPs - was not a good look.

Not a good look for the audience he’s playing to?  I would have to disagree.
