HibsFan
Will be held on Saturday 9th May, two weeks before the SPFL season ends. This is because of Euro 2020-related restrictions, according to the BBC. So an international tournament that is going to be shit on account of being spread all over Europe now ruins our showpiece domestic tournament? Great news. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48612526
The Master
Wembley is hosting the FA Cup Final on 23rd May, despite also hosting Euro 2020 group games. It was suggested on the other thread that the reason is because Wembley needs less work to be ready. Hampden's press and TV boxes are tiny compared to most major stadia so I'd imagine the majority of the upper tier of the South Stand is being converted for media use. There's probably temporary TV studios to erect as well.
GNU_Linux
Could they not've used Murrayfield to have the final after end of league season?

gannonball
Needs 3 weeks to get it ready but can also host two semi finals on one day apparently.

Victor von Doom
Scheidt-Hole-on-Circ Stadium was only down for the semis & final. Brussels had problems and withdrew from staging their allocated games . UEFA then moved the Brussels matches to the midden of mosques & madrassas in Middlesex. Maybe the FA Cup Final was already booked in for its normal date & the English FA couldn't move it. Bound to be other stuff on there at weekends in May. Still pish-poor that the Cup Final has to be moved forward two weeks. I know fumigating the ground & basic decontamination of the area takes a while after Celtic fans have visited, but surely not a whole month. HibeeJibee
Going to be weirder than the year they played it on a Sunday to avoid CL. It is disappointing considering Wembley is running on 16 days later (EFL Championship Playoff Final = Monday 25th May), hosting 6 games in 10 days up to then... yet Wembley's first Euro 2020 game is 1 day before Hampden's. As I said above, Wembley is much closer to being a Euro Championships stadium than Hampden. For the 2007 UEFA Cup Final, Hampden needed extra TV and radio commentary positions installed in south stand. It's not the best photo but you can just make them out here: That's just the UEFA Cup Final 12 years ago; these days, major football matches need far more facilities. Here's Stade Geoffroy-Guichard at Euro 2016, which hosted similar games that Hampden will: All the white boxes are for the media - that's at least 5 times the capacity of Hampden's fixed media area. Installing the power and communications plus associated testing for all those desks will take longer than the 3 weeks between a 23rd May Scottish Cup Final and 15th June group game.

Victor von Doom
In all seriousness, I hope UEFA haven't over-estimated media requirements. Banks of empty media seats won't go down well with ripped-off or ticketless fans. SFs and Final apart, there will almost certainly be far fewer journalists at any given match in next year's Euros than is normal for a finals tournament. Media companies may send teams of reporters, presenters, cameramen, engineers & producers to one country for a tournament, then have them move around a couple of hundred miles at a time. I doubt many of those on duty in Rome on opening night will be flying to Baku, St.Petersburg or Copenhagen for a match on day two though. There were about 5,000 applications for media passes in the Russia World Cup - the majority obviously from Russians, most of whom would've been covering only matches in their local city. There should be more overall applications this time, but most journalists with passes won't leave their own country. A lot of media teams will be confined to studios.

Bully Wee Villa
Works out better for Clyde, only a one week wait after our last league game.
Mick1867
There is also the potential for QP to be involved in play offs between 5th and 17th May Looks like those would be getting punted elsewhere

And on the subject of people who don’t like Muslims...Isn’t it more Hindu up there in the north west?Unless he thinks they’re playing Euro 2020 at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford
