Burnie_man
Thought Gilmour did well, kept things simple. He needs to try and impose himself on the game more but that will come in time as he gets more game time and experience (and maybe grows a bit more). Still way too early to even think of him as a full cap. McTominay was excellent. Edited October 31, 2019 by Burnie_man

craigkillie
Hudson-Odoi has actually played in important games for Chelsea though. Gilmour has had a couple of League Cup starts and a Premier League sub appearances.

Picked ahead of Gordon Strachan, unbelievably.Steve Nicol was getting picked at our regular right back in that very same side before he’d even played a first team game for LiverpoolWe need to stop this shite in Scotland and get back to the days when we picked players when they were good enough Gilmour is world class, he’s 18, he’s in the Chelsea matchday squadHe needs to be in the Scotland side ASAP

Smokerson
Not sure how anyone can say Gilmour is world class. The lad looks to be a huge talent but has played 2 games as a professional footballer. Give him another campaign in the 21s then if he is starting to play more regularly with Chelsea or even goes on loan to a decent level then give him a chance.

Anyone who says he’s world class is an idiot and shouldn’t be responded to. 2. It’s worked for Wales. Both Woodburn and Ampadu have had fantastic performances for Wales having had no more than a handful of games for Liverpool and Chelsea. If you’re good enough, you’re old enough. There will be fixtures that are worth him being involved in, though perhaps pushing the u21s onward at the moment is better use, especially given the potential there is to qualify. He definitely doesn’t need another campaign with the u21s - the level of football is far far below the competitive games he’s had for Chelsea, and will get this season. Which in turn are also more competitive than either Cyprus or Kazakhstan should be.

As you say, I hope he doesn't need another U21 campaign and he's getting decent game time for Chelsea by then, in which case you bring him into the A set-up.

Kuro
I think it's still a bit early for Gilmour. He is ahead of where I expected him to be at this point, I didn't think he'd make his senior debut this season However, circumstances have worked in his favour with the transfer ban and injuries. He's been on the bench loads recently but that's with kante and loftus cheek out. And btw when you look at the players in front of him - loftus cheek, kante, jorginho and kovacic - you see the size of the task he has. It's likely Chelsea will with at least one midfielder either in January or next summer too, who would inevitably go into the queue in front of Gilmour. So I think it's likely they will loan him out either in January or next season or both and I think that's probably best. Then he can come back turning 20 with fifty or so appearances and probably a full international. Physically he's not ready yet but would be by then. Chelsea have a long standing hook up with vitesse arnhem , Gilmour is small and slight and a very technical player. So it would be best for him to play in a slightly less physical and more technical environment, so that would be a good place for him imo. Our WE qualifiers start in just over 16 months, the aim should be getting him ready for them which I don't think is impossible, hickey too. But just now he is first choice with the 21s and getting decent experience, I would leave hi there for now. if we go out in March you bring him in sometime after then, if we qualify then you do it after the tournament is finished.
