STARTS

Hopefully Chelsea play a back three again so we can imagine how he'd do in that system for us.

Tuchel usually plays a 3-4-3, so it would be a back three but a naturally far more attacking one than Scotland play.

Tuchel:
“The other three players are Kovacic, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante. That means it’s not easy for Billy to find his place, but he’s the no.4 right now in my head and to be the no.4 for two positions is a pretty good start for Billy.”

Meh. Pretty much as expected.

He's not doing much out there, needs to be standing out in this game and he's not doing great

What are you looking for him to do? he isn't a goal scorer and doesn't provide many assists. He also isn't the type of player to stand out by going past players. He is tidy on the ball and keeps possession well. He is more suited to games against big teams where keeping the ball is important.

Maybe not give ball away, he's done that 3 times, plus why shouldn't he run at someone or get up field a bit...He's a midfielder, world class players never show restrictions

Yeah he's been pretty poor. Aside from losing possession too often he's brushed aside far too easily.

I'll be surprised if he starts another game this season.

He is just a young lad trying to break into one of the biggest clubs in Europe. The expectation levels in here are a joke. He needs to go on loan at a lower level to get game time.

There, are people saying he should be starting for Scotland. He looks miles off that based on tonight. He'd struggle to get a game for Barnsley.

That's two attempts at dreadful trolling ask @Barry Ferguson's Hat.  He's better at it.

He's losing possession quite frequently. Tuchel is going nuts on the sidelines.

He has only played a handful of games at the top level in his life and these have mostly been in diddy competitions. He is nowhere near the level of guys like McTominay or even McGinn. I am sure one day he will be but not for a while.

Well there you have it. He can't even do the simple things at this level yet.

He’s not been great but then none of the Chelsea team have been really. Done a few things well (pass for the goal was good) done some badly (giving possession away too much).

He probably needs a run of games but I’m not sure he’ll get it at Chelsea.
