Was at the other side of the pitch when the second penalty was given so can't comment. I honestly don't know why Talbot sat back and let the Bluebell boss the middle of the park in the second half, but they paid the price for it. Well don the Buebell staff for getting the game on. Looking forward to the replay. Personally thought it was a good game with 2 good sides. When we went 2-1 up unfortunately we couldn’t hold it for any length of time. Both penalties for me but in the build up to them the ball was out when played down the line and if linesman did his job then we would have held the lead. Cest la vie looking forward to Saturday.

Bundesliga Boy
Is it still in Blantyre? Quite fancy this being a Sunday game, and the floodlight fundraising continues. Somewhat strange in that you could possibly argue that preliminary round 2 has a higher percentage of more difficult ties than the first round proper. (not to be confused with some excellent sides entering at round 1). Either way, hope the Welfare prevail.
HibeeJibee
If it's drawn then on paper you would try again on Tuesday - not Monday - to avoid playing 2 days in a row. If off on Sunday then on paper you would try again on Monday - so that if it was drawn you've a blank day before the replay on Wednesday. However given Blantyre's lack of lights it might be better to say Tuesday whatever: more time + less uncertainty = helps players work/etc.?

Rules ask for Saturday, Monday,Wednesday until the tie is won but if clubs agreed then I don’t think Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday would be too harmful.
HibeeJibee
Strictly-speaking the rules require attempts to be made on Mondays + Wednesdays, but clubs can agree Tuesdays + Wednesdays instead.

bravehearts dad
Has there been any communication from Edinburgh leisure after last weeks butchery of the pitch at Saughton?
HibeeJibee
Well, their PR replied to LTHV's tweet, basically trying to say it's nothing to do with them. Which in a technical sense might be correct - probably the tractor and driver are Edinburgh City Council equipment and employees - but EL manage the facilities take the money and are an arms-length trust of ECC, IIRC.

It's the same here in West Lothian, the ALO will do whatever the council asks, the council just doesn't ask in public. -
Spyro
Absolutely gutted for LTHV, work their arses off to get a chance to play in the Scottish Cup then have it end up a farce and playing a home game in WL because of some dim-witted, jobsworth council employee! Surely he could see for the first cut he was causing damage but just continued on regardless, total muppet
Gimme
Change of venue. Same kick off time 2 o clock. Looks like this was a great decision, I see Blantyre have called off their game today due to a waterlogged park.

You'd think cutting it on a day of torrential rain was a bad idea, and noticing you were churning it up like a ploughing match you'd stop. It gets better though. Lot of youth football starts this weekend. Despite comparatively fair conditions all outside pitches at Saughton are off at the behest of Edinburgh Leisure: "to protect pitches instead of ruining them in the first weekend of the season". You wonder someone isn't taking the p*ss. Edited August 17, 2019 by HibeeJibee

Common sense prevails and the romance of the cup and aw that but should these amateur teams no at least have grounds up to a reasonable standard to start wi otherwise what's the point in having them in when they can chop and change venues at anytime especially wi the strict guidelines in place by the SFA. If WW were at home and given the weather every chance Ferguson Park is most likely unplayable as well today would they, or any other side at that be allowed to switch venue ?
