Move the narrative on.  Announcing something utterly cunty. When the next round of fines come out it will be national service, the death penalty or they'll just euthanise Liz. Government by trolling.
Straight out the Lynton Crosby playbook. Aided by the media lapping shite like that up.

Too busy to remember how angry you are at the awful shite they did yesterday because of the equally awful shite they're up to today.

So, they’ve scoured the world looking for a country to house these refugees and came up with fucking Rwanda! A country that the UK itself complained about to the UN on its human rights record only last year. You really would struggle to satirise this. It’s a complete distraction technique. Yet, the great British public will lap it up.

Rumours of 120m up front to the Rwandan government for "set up costs". Paying a regime with their record a single penny is criminal in itself but exactly how much is razor wire and shipping containers these days ? Add cost of transportation and this is basically ethnic cleansing plain and simple as there is no way this is economically beneficial.

This doesn't strike me as a particularly good idea.

There will be many Tory voters who will think it’s a good idea, including ones unwilling to admit so publicly.

These people will consider themselves fine upstanding members of society.

As I understand it there are detention centres here to house these people, it couldn't possibly be economically feasible to do this, never mind other, more humanitarian reasons.

We are going to send LGBT people escaping violence into a country that, yes doesn't criminalise them, but according to the US State Department report on human right:

"LGBTI persons reported societal discrimination and abuse, and LGBTI rights groups reported occasional harassment by neighbors and police."

This is a disgusting policy that is needlessly expensive and you can bet much like the Australian system will be marred by controversy within the first year.

It’s nothing to do with its economic practicalities and it’s certainly not about taking a humanitarian approach.  It’s about appealing to the most base instinct of a group of voters who want to see people punished for having the temerity to pursue a better life, particularly as they are non-white people.
