On the first day of the season at Pittodrie they actually looked very good for the 25 minutes they decided to play football. Levein held them back massively. Yes, good SPFL Championship quality.
senorsoupe
It's amazing how many bad signings Hearts have made over the last few years. They always seem to sign 7 or 8 players per transfer window with maybe 1 or 2 being actual SPFL Premiership quality. I predicted good things at the start of the season for a defence corps featuring John Souttar, Christophe Berra, and Craig Halkett but they have managed to f**k it up bigly and deserve to go down.

Did he even play?

The squad is absolutely rotten.Throw in Boyce and Naismith who have underperformed by quite some way.Throw in some tactics to disjoint them and hey presto. Championship football. So if their two highly paid strikers had performed up to par and they had been better organized do you still think they'd be bottom of the league?

It goes to show the importance of a half decent manager. It still amazes me that our 14-15 squad performed so poorly. Obviously most of Craig's signings were gash, but we still had an incredible spine there and should never have been in trouble.

Gorgie greatness
Trying to imagine the meeting with the director of football & the manager. Kinda like MacLennan doing his own Q&A....except budge bought it

I was worried from the day Thommo's injury was announced and we did hang in there until McLean left on the last day of the transfer window when we were 10th. http://www.fitbastats.com/stmirren/comphist_tables_onday.php?played=2015-01-31&played_dp=1&played_year_start=125&played_year_end=2020&played_mon=&played_da1=125-06-01&played_da2=2020-05-14&played_sna=1&played_aut=&played_frm=&played_tar=&played_inp=1&played_fmt=d-M-Y&played_day=31&played_month=01&played_year=2015&submit=Submit.

From the outside I'd say they still have a better squad than Hamilton, Paisley Saints and maybe County. Hearts fans obviously know better of course and I'd happily bow to their knowledge. I don't know, having a look at their squad, we definitely have a better goalkeeper and defence than them. Even Halkett wouldn't get in ahead of Famewo or McCarthy on this season's form. The only defender of theirs I can see starting for St Mirren at the moment would be Hickey. I don't really see much in the midfield either. Who would start ahead of Foley, Magennis, MacPherson or Durmas? Haring maybe? Up front Obika has been good for us, but you'd take Boyce and Naismith over the rest. Still, I think it's hard to make a solid case for them having a better squad than St Mirren as I think a combined XI would be mostly St Mirren players.

Is the latest injury not about his 7th injury that's lasted over 2 months? Hes incredibly injury prone.
craigkillie
Yes, Souttar being injured is one thing everyone could predict.
