We literally dont have anyone to sack him, or even hire a new manager really.

Steve Brown is cutting all ties with the club this Summer and walking away. Hes virtually already at that stage. Geoff Brown is in his 80s and also has no interest in actually running the club.

Whos left is Roddy Grant (whos only a director because of his playing history and is absolutely not going to sack anybody), Ian Flaherty (was hired thanks to Davidson and is more in charge of the business side of the club), and Gus MacPherson (whos never clarified what he actually does at the club, flat out refused to even speak to fans to explain at an open night months ago and by the looks of things since he came in, football wise, gives Davidson free reign to do what he wants.).

So aye. Davidson isnt getting sacked anytime soon.

Is SJ fan-owned?

FWIW i think we'll win another game this season, purely because if we dont itll have been a 12 game winless streak, and theres simply no way this squad of players should be managing that.

There's plenty of Americans who would probably buy it. What is your guess of an asking price?

That Kieran Maguire who does football finances predicted around £7m/8m, due to the amount of land etc., youre getting alongside a club with a £5m turnover last season and over £3m in the bank.

Quite simply its too much for anyone to buy unless you plan to asset strip and get your money back.

Well, if the Browns get desperate to sell, I could see someone getting it for less than £5 million.

But there are some rich Americans who would like to get into sport ownership, and that's a fraction of the MLS expansion fee.

Believe thats their expected market, but see little/no reason anyone would do it after the Dundee/United situations.

Would guess any prospective owner would ask the Dundee/United owners their thoughts and would likely be told to stay away.

Suspect we'll be up for sale for years with absent owners.

Dundee ownership has plenty of money. Can't say I know as much about United.

The MLS expansion fee is $150 million.

If someone has the money and a net worth of more than $25 million, I can see them rolling the dice on this to be in a top division in a country where they speak the language.

St Johnstone just haven't hit survival mode yet, whilst the other three teams have. Always a scary time, especially going into the split where all of a sudden every game becomes a six pointer. Next weekend is big for the Saintees, they have what looks like the most winnable game on current form of the three.

Genuinely no idea he was even at you.

He worked as a sort of head of recruitment when with us and did so to a relatively successful degree.

St Johnstone and Motherwell are not safe yet but it would take Hibs levels of collapses not to get the few points needed. There's no way two of the bottom three are reaching mid to high 30s.

As for buying St Johnstone, I have absolutely no idea why anyone who isn't a fan would buy them - and that's not an insult, it's my view for basically everyone outside the five big clubs and above the glorified amateurs. There surely has to be some mobilisation in the fans to follow Motherwell, St M, Hearts?

Why?

Why would anyone be interested in buying a club with a small support and a downwards trajectory?

It would just be a giant waste of money.

Think he does similar with us but who knows, apparently hosting another meeting with fans next week which should help clear it up.

Think the idea was instead of having just one figurehead controlling everything we have one looking after the business (Flaherty) and one looking after the club (MacPherson), so it would be up to MacPherson to sack Davidson. I dont see him ever doing that though.

We currently have players in the media all but saying what fans have been saying for years (the manager cant play to his teams strengths, just sets us up to play the way he wants to), and before Saturday theres (another) meeting between manager and players to discuss his tactics/selections.

Worth remembering a chunk of our squad are loanees, a chunk are ageing players on long term deals they wont earn again, and another chunk are out of contract this Summer and likely off. If some turn on the manager, as seems to be happening, how many are digging in to try and drag the club across the finish line?

Folk saying we're nothing like Fenlons Hibs are just saying that because theyre used to Tommy Wrights St Johnstone, not because of whats actually happening.

Plus allegedly played a lot of golf with Gordon Scott. I never knew he had landed in Perth. Nice courses up there.

A lot of St Mirren fans still on this thread. I hope we are just on here because of past history and not tempting fate. 😳

Gus doesn’t seem to enjoy speaking with fans based on our experience in Paisley.
Always seems to treat fans with contempt.

A fan once asked him if he would consider resigning after a desperate run of results Gus infamously responded “Show me the Money”.

That was the suggestion that came out the last meeting with the board thing we had. He just sat there with a puss on him, refused to take part, and had made it clear that any questions about "on field matters" were to be ignored.
