Bonnyrigg Rose vs Montrose

6/1 on Betfair. Montrose are obviously clear favourites but on that slope, with that crowd, against that team, there's no way that Bonnyrigg are 6 to 1 against.

Broxburn are 7/2 at Inverurie and Talbot are 13/2 against Arbroath. Is it me or are they pricing the non-league clubs unwisely? The prices for Talbot v Cove and Stirling Uni v Linlithgow Rose in the last round were daft.

I also am looking forward to this cup tie. One thing for sure is that Montrose will know that they have been in a game.

This might be the biggest crowd that Montrose have played in front of all season, we at Bonnyrigg have experience of such occasions!!!

C’mon The Rose

Not sure on your capacity but I'd very much doubt it's more than 3k+ at Falkirk early in the season.
Should be a cracker nonetheless. I've no doubt SP and the coaches won't underestimate Bonnyrigg at all, and we need to match the intensity from the start.
I suspect first 20 will be frantic and would hope the Mo start to take control as the game goes on.

a little help from Bonnyrigg fans, is there much car parking at the ground?  Or am I best to use the surrounding streets?

Very little at the ground. You will have to use the surrounding streets. We normally head for Campview Road.

Years ago we would have lost this one without a doubt.Under Sp Leadership fully confident we can go out and win this tie nothing to fear.....emoji3060.pngemoji3060.pngemoji3060.pngemoji3060.png

The only certainty is that a team with "rose" in its name will go through.

Trainspotter type non-football related link between Montrose and Bonnyrigg, I mentioned in a previous post, is that in the 70's and '80's, a current director of MFC had clothes shops in Montrose, "In Style" on Murray Street and also stocked a colleague from his work in Edinburgh's shop, "Life Style" in Bonnyrigg. So both towns appeared on carrier bags for the former, along with Tranent, Broxburn and Blackburn*. (London, Paris, Rome, New York and Tokyo did not feature.)

Anyone old enough to remember Sta-Prest, Harrington's, Ben Shermans, Crombies, even the dangerous in high winds, Birmingham bags may have faint recollections of the shops. In Montrose, alternatives were Fraser's Fashions of Brechin and the Emporium. Other options further afield were JayTees in Arbroath, who I remember advertised at the Pictures. It was also the era of Dickie Dirts in London.

I am ancient!

*Blackburn, W. Lothian, not its much bigger, Beatle-quoted, holey, Lancashire namesake.

In Style was on Murray Street. I remember when it closed in the early 90s they had shit loads of 1970s made in Germany Adidas trainers that they couldn't give away. They'd be worth a fortune now.

I'm pretty sure there was another clothes shop next door called Catch-Hand and Quality Seconds was across the road.

Anyway back to the game. The Mo have a pretty pish record against non league teams but I'm a lot more confident about it than I would have been a few years ago.

Are there any tickets still on sale for this hane, Bonnyrigg is just up the road from me and I've considered going to the game,  I've looked online and it says ticket sales are closed but no mention of the actual words being " sell out" , so does anyone know if I can pick up a ticket somewhere for this game tomorrow

None available from the club and no cash gate, your only hope is finding someone locally with spares.

Oh well I'll no be going to that game  I'm watching Falkirk( who are a supposedly a big huge massive premier team with a huge big premier support) struggle against Linlithgow so I'm up for seeing a shock , oh well I might pop along to Firhill to see Partick v Penicuick

That can't be right surely? A crowd of 1000 if you're lucky. Bonnyrigg must hold 3000, they'll surely have a cash gate
Club have put a capacity of 2000 on the tie. Montrose were given 350 tickets and the last I heard Bonnyrigg had sold 1400 or so.
