btchmakesandwich
Travelling up from Manchester to watch the game tomorrow. Any recommendations for a decent hotel to stay in and somewhere good for food and a few drinks at night. Quote
19QOS19
Travelling up from Manchester to watch the game tomorrow. Any recommendations for a decent hotel to stay in and somewhere good for food and a few drinks at night. Cairndale is pretty central but I think it's over-priced shite (hotel). If you prefer no frills there's a Travelodge on the outskirts of town. Would be a taxi job home if you're drinking though. It really just depends on what you're after from a hotel. Cavens Arms on Buccleuch Street is great pub grub. It's a good choice for a pre-match pint as well with a lot of Real Ale on offer. You have plenty of options for pubs at night and all in walking distance of each other. Just stay away from The World's End on the Sands. Utter pond life are always hanging about outside there.

Try the Edenbank hotel, 5 min walk from Palmerston 4 pubs within a 2 minute walk and a 10 minute walk from the town centre.

I stayed in the Cairndale a few weeks ago, I couldn't believe how tired it has become. Also needs a good clean I'm afraid.

Which is a shame cause its actually a really decent pub. Really nice pint and reasonable prices, very clean and up to date as well. But the folk who go there are f*cking mental.
