Coronavirus (COVID-19)

There are clearly different views on whether going for a walk in the park is ok.

I don’t think anyone with the capacity of abstract thought is in any doubt of whether going for a walk is genuinely in any doubt.

“Within reason” being the key phrase. While some people on this thread think it’s unreasonable to go for a walk or run (whilst adhering to the social distancing guidelines) in case they - it would seem - lick the ground, I think that falls well within grounds of reasonableness.

Dunno why you keep referring to licking the ground as an example on how you may catch the virus, are you of the assumption that people have to go around licking work surfaces to contract it? You do realise it lives on hard surfaces for 72 hours? Course you do, n as long as you don't go around licking the hard surfaces or the floor or visit China with an open wound you'll never catch it 🙄 how has spread like this??

Not martyrs at all just listening to guidelines from a government who are clearly clueless n not giving any trust worthy information, a bunch of people who pick n choose what part they want to listen to suit there own needs, facts are we are heading into this disaster as clearly the worse nation in Europe as a ratio of deaths, n one of the very few with a kind of relaxed lockdown, don't make much sense, until it gets to a point where maybe even stricter rules are forced, so do we sit tight as we watch the numbers soar, we have already admitted we were to slow to declare lockdown, so will it be we were to slow to enforce a strict lockdown, the problem is the choices you make you make effect everyone, do we think we're the only country who suffers mental health problems?  Pathetic, arrogant, stubborn and slightly deluded, all of them traits will no doubt will turn to regret just before intensive care becomes your total lockdown!
Our intensive care numbers are pretty positive are they not?

I know that ninewells is still pretty quiet right now, and very well prepared.

There are a huge number of deaths in total and there will be more but the signs look reasonable in terms of our health service coping, and not being overwhelmed.

Cycled along to Morrison’s last week. Fucking horrendous. Inside the shop it was like a normal Saturday.   I made my excuses and left.

Today I’m cycling along to Asda to see if it’s any better.

Ill let you know later.

Can't decide whether to cycle or drive to Tesco in Ullapool, the advice is so complicated I'm not sure which is best.

For a man so worried about car crashes, you really should have reconsidered posting this.

It's an old joke from Digitiser (the Channel 4 Teletext video games page)

While you’re stuck inside and criticising people for leaving their homes do you mind reading up on punctuation? Mind-melting to read that.

BIB Are you sure that's true?  As far as I know only Spain has outright banned all forms of outdoor exercise  ,  Other countries (notably Germany) have not actually went as far as an official  "stay at home " policy backed up by the police, yet somehow they're not making a rip roaring c**t of things …… no idea why tho.  We do probably have the most lenient approach to enforcement and punishment tho,  other countries have deployed hundreds of thousands of their multi layered law  enforcement of local municipal and national police , gendermer cabineri ( or whatever the hell they's called ! ) civil guard etc etc but we have to rely on our cut to the bone police force.  so in that case I doubt theres much appetite for stricter enforcement when theres not enough to enforce it

I can't remember whether this has been posted yet.  Any idea whether any of this 'top 4' have factories in Scotland?

This situation is untenable either the UK government take responsibility for their entire country, similar to what the EU are doing or they grant independence to Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland

Sorry what part melted your mind, n ill break it down for you, yeah there was a few big words, punctuation?  Stuck in the house? No I'm not stuck, I'm just making a conscious decision to stay in if i can, be at ease with my own mind and just like the majority of the other countries doing my best to get through a shite situation, you can rest easy and know that if God forbid u find yourself in that situation i probably did not contribute to it, stay at home, staysafe, wash your hands n brush your teeth use a anti bac mouthwash, especially if your tongue or mouth comes in contact with hard surfaces or pavements, stick to it then maybe we can talk about football. "the end of Covid-19"

No matter how ironic you're being, I'm going to take comfort in saying that's the first time I've seen that said. Who knows, maybe it just might......

Spain Italy China at the beginning, and the numbers of deaths in other nations are not as bad as ours, with our population being much lower.

I actually grassed her up to the young lad cleaning trolley handles.

It's a very small reopening against the wishes of the governments own advisor. We are still in a state of alarm - exactly the same as the first two weeks of lockdown.

The overwhelming majority of us are still in total lockdown - visit to nearest grocery store or pharmacy, carrying your ID.

I live less than ten mins walk to Plaza Mayor in Madrid. I went for my weekly shop this morning. There were 2 people in the shop. I saw one person on my way there and an empty bus.

Mad that nearly a thousand people a day are dying and people in the UK are still going to the shops in twos and the utter clusterfuck of a UK government still cant give clear advice or be held to account by the press.
