When I was younger me and my mates would regularly go to Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool for nights out and these days I'm down in London a few times a year to see friends.

If London is open for nightlife before Scotland I'll be heading down for a long weekend.

You are so bad ass, man.

Still don't understand what the (calculated) political gain is here.

Just the usual triangulation. She'll get credit for being cautious now but no backlash for people having less social options than England when it's things people care about.

You're the idiot if you think people are so desperate to go to the pub that they'll have 4-hour round drink driving trip.

Especially when you can just take a few cans down the park.

No mention of condiments, she's a disgrace.

That's a bit of a salty comment.

I leave the saucy stuff to Albert.

Quite clearly a different route map to England - cautious but realistic and honest.

Still think they are optimistic about getting teachers in when we still have CSCs in place - when I've been in school I've had to work in the school office as my whole department is being used by other schools in the CSC - not unless CSCs move back to their own schools in the final week of term.

Interesting that they date they are looking at for schools to start the phased return is 11 August - that's the return date for most Scottish schools in any case - but not for some councils - DCC are meant to return a week later - I wonder how they'll get round that?

The blended return is going to be really difficult - it really needs pupils to have IT access - not sure £30million is anywhere near enough. There is also the whole issue of classes being split and possibly being taken by non-specialists - this could be problematic - especially for practical subjects. In IT heavy courses like Admin & IT we really need clarification from SQA urgently regards course assessment and exams for session 2020-21 - trying to get through the content when pupils might only be in school 2 hours per week (when they normally get 5-5.5 hours per week) may be very difficult, especially if a blended return goes on for a substantial period of time. I think some parents are not going to be happy that younger pupils might only be in school for 20% or so of their normal time - and this might continue as far as Christmas. Also in terms of workload it will be difficult to both support classes in school whilst at the same time monitoring and supporting remote learning.

A lot to get our heads around.

Return date is across the board with discussions take place in regards lost holidays with each authority.

I would tend to think Sturgeon is trying to avoid further mistakes that cost lives rather than playing to the gallery, yes it'll be a bit of a pain in the tits running weeks behind England if all goes well but I can live with it.

Why?

I get being cautiously optomistic is a good mindset to take, but bearing in mind virus activity here already appears to be reasonably low, why is it such a big if that Scotland would see a reaction to easing the smallest of measures not seen anywhere else?

Pandarilla said much the same - like him I'd have no problem if they shifted the week to next year.

Sorry I missed him saying it.

Ayrmad pretty much had the same view as me.

You are the one who thinks it could be a big if. Why do you think it's a big if?

Thats a pretty negative outlook
