Good Afternoon. 7 Days on from my last review it is worth a complete council update.   Public Health have enjoyed their holidays and updated the figures.

Overall cases per 100K  for 7 days  in period 20th Dec to  26th Dec  was134.6

From 27th Dec to 2nd January we have erm jumped to 279.7

A jump of 106.32%     This is clearly a real eye opener

Let us just take a look at the councils and see who is to blame.  (Took the piss at Xmas)

Inverclyde  162.0 to 578.4   Five Hundred and Seventy Eight !!

Dumfries & Galloway  77.3 to 536.1  Five Hundred and Thirty Six !!

Scottish  Borders   129.0 to 432.0

Renfrewshire  188.2 to 414.9

North Lanarkshire  173.4 to 402.2

Dundee City   184.8 to 382.4

East Ayrshire  193.4  to 366.4

East Renfrewshire  181.1 to 365.3

North Ayrshire  154.4 to 321.4

Glasgow City  170.0 to 315.6

South Lanarkshire   171.9 to 278.0

Aberdeen City 164.9 to 277.3

Falkirk   101.3 to 269.7

East Dunbartonshire  126.1 to 265.1

Aberdeenshire   131.7 to 259.2

West Dunbartonshire   1124.8 to 250.8

Shetland Islands Now 240.0

City Of Edinburgh   142.5 to 239.1

Angus 94.7 to 230.6

Perth & Kinross  123.7 to 219.2

South Ayrshire 101.2 to 214.0

Midlothian   122.2 to 204.4

Fife   114.6 to 194.6

Clackmannanshire 71.8 to 194.0

Highlands  55.4 to 186.2

West Lothian  84.7 to 175.3

East Lothian   112.1 to 146.6

Stirling  84.9 to 142.2

Moray   55.3 to 123.1

Argyll & Bute   51.2  to 85.0

Western Isles  Now 48.7

Orkney Islands Now 0.0

Still large areas in some places still basically free of the virus.   Fife for instanced riddled centrally and south and fewer than 50 cases in the 100,000 plus inhabitants in the North East.

Has Dave Cormack asked for fans to be let in yet?

Jeez. Some horrific increases in that.

A couple of interesting questions on TV earlier which would be good to know the answers to - We keep hearing the politicians and their excuses about the amount of doses available...
Is the vaccine manufacturing happening as a 24/7 operation?

If not, why not?
It absolutely should be 24/7 IMO. And it might be, I just don’t know).
Testing and being vaccinated should also 100% be a 24/7 operation too. I’d gladly go for a 4:30am vaccination appointment if that was the slot I was given.
No govt has control over big pharma production no matter how much they invest. I very much doubt the pharmaceutical plants trundle along at 5 days per week 9-5. Big issue is AZ, Pfizer and the likes produce thousands of vital medicines at plants worldwide, that has to continue in conjunction with Covid vaccine. The lines its running on will be producing as much as is physically possible I'm sure.

As has been stated on here a few times the UKG announced early December that we were set to receive 10m doses from Pfizer by 31 January. That 10m is now 2m according to Pfizer who also claim that is in line with their contract with the UKG.

60k cases is obviously horrific, but this lockdown coupled with 2 vaccines getting pumped out will see cases drop dramatically in the next fortnight you'd presume.

Now I know next to nothing about drug manufacture and distribution or the logistics involved in administering vaccines on a scale and speed never before attempted in human history but I can tell you I'm outraged that things aren't happening faster.

Also, North Ireland confirming cases in the over 80s has plummeted too since the first vaccine started.

Let's keep it light lads.

Are you allowed to call them North Ireland?

I see TalkRadio has been booted off YouTube for spreading false Covid information. Having looked at some of the presenters, I'm not surprised.

are they part of talksports  parent company which is essentially owned by  news corp?  I was watching youtube the other day and I saw a video from sky news Australia  ( same logos as ours etc) FUCKIN HELL! you think ours is a bit biased towards the tories and right wing,  the presenter I think was some kind o0f maverick who specialises in alternative opinions but f**k me, full on covid is a communist conspiracy, climate changed denial, stating as fact that bidens US election win was fraudulent,  BLM is a Marxist communist conspiracy etc etc .  lockdowns are a way to control us to move into the next phase of their tyrannical plan.

A few years ago I punted my sky subscription as a one man protest againt their shite,  as the years went by I kinda softened and thought och maybe I mean one person can't make any difference just get it and enjoy watching the fitbaw again, nah f**k that it was the right decision!

I do miss the days when conspiracy was a hobby of lefty dope smoking hippys tho

Yeah I considered all that. My brother-in-law works in that field and the firm he works for are a 24/7 operation.

I just wondered out of curiosity re the covid vaccines since we’ve not really had much clarity from the horses mouths about what exactly is causing  the delays in the vaccine rollout. Just vague excuses from politicians. It might help to some extent if Pfizer or Astra-Zeneca put out statements saying “we simply don’t have the means or the staff numbers to make enough quick enough”. At the same time I’m fairly sure a lot of that probably goes without saying though.

As far as production goes, theres probably a fair element of, they just cant meet colossal expectation. However, as I said before, the wheels of industry take a while to get up to speed but of I were a bookie I would happily take the money of anyone who backed the govt having their act together before AstraZeneca. They will be piling them up on the doorstep soon enough would be my opinion.
