Said this a week or two ago, and was widely dismissed as "doom and gloom nonsense".

These Hampden games are a 'wee treat' for us, and once they're out the road normal service will resume.

I hope all clubs in Scotland start legal challenges if they can’t let a majority of fans back in stadiums come next season.

There’s no reason why clubs like Elgin, Arbroath, East Fife, Dumbarton etc can’t have fans in while 50 people can go to a church inside or if you can travel across the country.

Well that's what I suspect may happen if hospitalisations, deaths and (to lesser extent) cases stay low. They may find it harder to justify restrictions if that continues to be the case.

Of course, that may be the plan. Hold off making any commitments on things just now and see how it looks come summer. That's pretty much consistent with the approach so far.

How can clubs plan for that? Its absolute madness.

See in Boris roadmap when it says, all legal restrictions on social contact removed.... What does that actually mean then?

I read it as:

- No legal limit on the number of people you can socialise with indoors or outdoors

- No legal requirement to remain physically distant from others

It also said

"Restrictions on large events lifted"

Which I read as:

- Large events can happen

What I didn't read from it was that there would not be a maximum gathering size permitted, so would expect stadiums etc to have limited capacities, at least initially.

I don't think I've seen or read anything so far that has caused me to re-think any of the above.

The way we're going, 50 fans will be a dream crowd next season.

Calling it "Level Zero Restrictions" when it didn't mean "zero" was dumb last October. It's even more dumb now as we are clearly going to get there fairly soon, and it then leaves the SG in a position where they have no room for manoeuvre.

They can't keep "Level Zero" in place indefinitely, and "Level Minus One" sounds absolutely ridiculous.

They have backed themselves into a corner where they will either have to lift every remaining restriction in place at the same time (something which I don't imagine they will want to do), and keep pointless restrictions in place for far longer than necessary because they aren't quite ready to remove them all.

A completely obvious and easily avoidable situation. with a bit of foresight.

Level 0 you can do what you but there’s a cap on sporting crowds and clubs

So as I understand, Level 0 is late June (and thus after the Hampden games) with maximum crowds of 2000 (which is10,000 less than the Hampden games).

What the fucks going on??

The small print at the bottom says that higher capacities can be agreed with councils/Government.

Those will be removed long before July if everything keeps going like it is. She basically said as much today, This is groundhog day.

Hopefully mate.

Then why don't they simply amend the restrictions now, given that level 0 isn't going to actually happen for months? What is the fucking point of maintaining it?

The true Groundhog Day event is the SG thinking that tapping their nose and implying that things will definitely change before then anyway is a credible way of planning for any organisation or business.

This is an easy one. They need to wait to see what England does first, and then copy them.

They know these restrictions are very likely to be behind what the rest of the UK is doing by then. So when they "speed things up" everyone is happy.

Pretty much this, so they can pronounce an "acceleration", it's basically a worst case scenario and we all know the worst case isn't going to happen. Anyone actually think the new football season will start with 2000 inside Ibrox or Parkhead ???

The Simps are loving it so no need for them to speed things up.
