Personally i think a future where the social interaction in our office is gone, and you're either WFH or at a booked desk somewhere in amongst a bunch of folk from other departments you don't know is as bleak as f**k. your right it is, not everyone loves their job or co - workers, but not everyone hates it either - despite this whole fashionable misery fad where people are forever posting facebook quotes and meme's pretending to "hate being around people" but are mostly just fishing for compliments of " oh no we love you around!" but anyway , there's also the aspect of teamwork and learning, which i think needs to be done in the same room, if you are close enough to someone to see what they're doing , weather they're deep in focus or just casually ticking stuff off, you can make a judgement call weather to interrupt them or leave it till later. you can't do this on video calls, your always interrupting whatever they are doing and taking their full attention away from what they are doing, more than you would if you were there in person. If you have to call someone multiple times a day on teams or xoom, no matter how valid the reason , you are being a pest technology is great but it doesn't replace everything because we are a social species at the end of the day 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ron Aldo Posted May 21, 2021 Share Posted May 21, 2021 I know it's no secret that East Renfrewshire will be put back into level 3 given the rise in "cases" but that the SG are still using this as the main factor in implementing restrictions is genuinely unbelievable.It's good to see the daily breakdown on here and, as a North Lanarkshire resident, I've been pleasantly surprised to see cases per 100k remain fairly stable here. That's been the norm in places I've worked for the last few years. If I went into an office I would barely know anyone to talk to as most of the people I actually work with are in London.
