Groundwork being laid for us dumping the travel testing too, a decision due in the next day or two.

Another u turn by the SG due to the backlash. What a surprise.

Let’s see what comes of it, but fair play from the outset for admitting they realise Scots will just fly from England, and considering that in coming to a decision.

NS confirming performers/workers at nightclubs, sports events etc wont need vaccine certification. Ironic that the stewards checking passports could be unvaccinated

Bit of a kick in the balls for pubs with late licenses as well, in the nightclub definition.

Essentially the hybrid places open till say 1ish. Bit daft that you’ll be able to have folk up dancing all evening for example, but when the clock strikes 12 they are a nightclub.

Should be an added caveat of opening the doors at a certain time, say 11pm makes you a nightclub.

Test result came back negative this morning. If I hadn't phoned to chase them up then I would never have got them. Daft bint in charge hadn't assigned the test kit code to my name, despite me asking twice if she needed to scan the QR code on my appointment. Meant the test result was sitting there for ages unassigned, as soon as I hung up the phone to the helpline I got the text message and email with the result.

A colleague of mine is self isolating. He took his son for a PCR test at the weekend. The results came back - his son was positive and he was negative. What's getting him confused/curious is that after taking the test, he drove his son to his ex-wife's house. He was in the car with the germ factory for a while.

He has taken a LF test yesterday morning (negative) and went for a new PCR test today. He isn't 100% sure of the rules in his case but doesn't want to come and potentially spread it to students.

Why is he self isolating? Is he double jabbed? If yes he should be back to work

Then he should be back to work. The school/ college should know these rules and have someone in place to tell him of the rules.

I reckon if this PCR test comes back negative he'll come back.

He has had himself and his son tested twice a week with PCR tests for weeks, and been taking lateral flows in between. Pinpointed where these huge test figures came from...

Thought you only got a PCR if showing symptoms or traced?

Surely this boy hasn’t been going online twice a week stating he has symptoms even if he doesn’t, just to get a test appointment?!

I only know what he told me. No idea what he tells them.

The issue seems to be that all the boy's pals seem to have tested positive over the last few weeks, so he was expecting a positive test result.

Because he wants 10 days off work. It's not rocket science.

Unlucky for him - he still has to deliver the classes, just online rather than in person.  He had to rearrange his class this morning to an online-only format.
