Like schools?

I wish they would just come out and say they think the costs v benefits of keeping schools open are worth the price of their contribution to transmission, instead of continually saying they're safe, but no doubt they've been advised by the finest behavioural modelers in the land that it would cause more damage than it would reassure the denizens of P&B.

Aye but then glasgow and lanarkshire have actually had numbers that would indicate level 4 yet havent entered that tier. Angus etc are only showing signs of tier 3 yet are put in that tier. Total inconsistency

They should have another column for trajectory, you'd be on PP and everyone would be happy.

PP-Piss Poor.

Two professors both members of the UKs vaccine advisory committee giving media interviews today. One said he expected that life should be pretty much back to normal after the first quarter of 2021, the other said he fully expects measures such as SD, home working and face covering still being the norm until this time next year. Clearly no one has a clue how this immunisation program will play out at this stage.

They've dug a hole so deep on that front they'll never conceed that.

They'll be hoping the vaccine comes soon enough that they can get away with it until, and after, the Christmas holidays.

FA-Fucking Awful.

To be honest, it doesnt really impact me either way. Gyms are still open and i am still working. Im not bothered about drinking and am happy to wait to have a meet up with friends. However, it just seems awfy inconsistent and the decisions today seem to be more political.

I would think that is Angus in tier 3 until xmas at least. Seems to be easy to move up a level but not as easy to move back down.

Providing the SD & Face coverings are advisory and voluntary, both could be right.

You'd be saying exactly the same if they hadn't been flexible with island communities.

The whole fucking point of the four tier system is to provide that flexible response within easy to follow tiers. Now we've got a tier 0.5 rocking up because the government can't go two weeks without making some ridiculous halfway house decision for the sake of it.
