This pushes the UK down the leaderboard. In fact Russia's excess death over the period: 186,000 odds, places them third now behind the US and Brazil. I dunno mate, in comparison to other age groups, it seems more likely that this strain does in fact transmit between and infect kids much more than previous ones.
