Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

Having had a few hours to calm down about all of this…

I can only draw conclusion that they know these measures are pointless, but they want to convince the dense that in 3 weeks this made difference, and take the credit for rates falling. All the while they will be blaming WM for not giving them enough money to save everyone’s job / business.

Shameless? Audacious? Contemptible? I honestly can’t find a suitable word to describe them right now, but I know I’m fucking sickened by it all.

Boris seems to be dancing to his own tune at the moment. It's hard to predict what he's going to do.

If he keeps things open through New Year the media attacks on him will hit another level.

I actually think Boris might be guaging the reaction from Wales and Scotland . Right now Nicola is getting hounded . If Boris rides this out until omicrom is seen as the massive over reaction it is certain to be.Then the devolved governments have nothing but eggs on their face and big questions to answer whereas he is the hero for not shutting things down

by Boris I obviously mean whoever is behind him and his planning because he personally has the political intelligence of a wet sponge

God only knows anymore, the "advice" seems to be completely out of kilter with all the data that we're getting from SA plus even our own early, all be it limited, data from our own hospitals.

Personally and I'd imagine like most of us, I'm totally sick of all the political point scoring from all sides as all it's doing is scunnering the people and as for the mixed messages, backtracks, blatant contradictions and u turns it's just getting ridiculously depressing now.

How long before NS herself warns that she can't rule out tougher / longer restrictions after new year for no reason other than she's absolutely raging at football fans daring to question her.

Five minutes.

I think there’s a sizeable majority who are dead against restrictions, but there’s nowhere to make your voice heard. Nowhere to make your point that gets noticed, without you being branded uncaring for those affected by covid. Nowhere to protest. No-one, and I mean no-one I know, is anything other than scunnered, totally scunnered, with Sturgeon, Johnson & Co.
The opposition parties are probably worse at both a Westminster and Holyrood level - the Tories (in Scotland) Labour and the Fib Dems seem to want tougher restrictions - without actually spelling out what those would be.

There is also the additional issue that those sane voices dissenting get drowned out by the moonhowling anti-vaxxers.

It’s been the way throughout. I think, from memory, Denise Welsh, one of the ‘Loose Women’ on that TV show said something along the lines of ‘Covid isn’t the only thing that matters’ - in regard to missed breast cancer tests, missed operations, etc, etc… and she was hounded into making an apology. Accused of being uncaring and was an affront to those who had lost loved ones to Covid.

Apology? For talking sense.

As I said in a previous post, I genuinely feel there is a large majority of ordinary folk, who are against restrictions out there. Cannot be heard, cannot gather and protest, and are the kind of folk who generally don’t protest anyway. Just go about their business. I’ve tried taking certain things up with my SNP MSP. He just cracked a bad joke and fobbed me off. These cnuts in yellow in Holyrood have become too cosy, too powerful, too complacent. The opposition is about as much use as a nappy coated in a newborn’s first skittery shite.

Depressing times.

Correct. I actually spoke at a Freedom Rally held locally last Spring but was disappointed to find that most of the folks there (not many) were anti Vaxers and anarchist types.

Or if you do join one of the protests, you get labelled an anti-vax, tin foil hat wearing flat earther.

There's absolutely no in-between. Which is of course ridiculous.
