Meeniedee
Arbroath fans complaining about a game being called off due to a waterlogged pitch while being quite happy at their game getting called off at halftime the other week due to a bit of wind......

Or better yet - half time.

vikingTON
Small 110 volt "puddle sucker" submersible pumps, can be hired from any plant hire shop, place on top of the cover, and the outlet pipe can be put down a nearby drain, these come supplied with the pump. These are used all the time in the construction/ roofing industry to move unwanted water away ,4 to 6 would be plenty for a pitch. It’s remarkable to see apparently sentient, legally responsible adults like ‘The Master’ and many other chumps on here presenting ‘clearing some water off a protective cover’ as a suddenly insurmountable technical obstacle in 2020. You could even just brush it off to the far edge of the sidelines instead, as Morton did with four inches of rain before last week’s game. Clubs have been using covers for decades to great effect, it’s hardly innovative technology. The plain facts of the matter are that Dundee FC made a rip-roaring c**t of it because they’re a tinpot rabble.

Plant hire shops are closed on Saturdays mate. I suppose we could have bought a big box of straws and go a few hundred fans to sook up the water and dump it in the Tay.

Used them all the time for hiring pumps for large projects. The pitch cover does not have to be in one,as some leaks will be easily absorbed, place covers down, and as any football pitch has low points, place the pump in the deepest parts, these pumps can shift a load of water away, this is used for cleaning out Swimming pools,Terrazzo floor contractors, etc. Its a shame to let the pitch turn into a swamp for the sake of £200,6 people and 4 hours work. It would dry out by making sure no more water was added to the saturated ground as any other rain would have been funnelled or swept away from the playing surface by the cover. Pretty poor show that a team with the 3rd best pitch a few seasons ago can't workout a plan to stop their pitch turnig into a paddy field.

The whole drivel itself or the use of the word “vacation”.
