Coronavirus and the Scottish Championship

Dundee must be holding back for a reason, whether it is real or perceived leverage. If they vote no, it's finished. If they indicate they might vote yes they could gain concessions. I've no idea what they might be, but both sides seem to be furthering their interests one way or another.

No. Exactly the opposite. If they vote Yes there is nothing to bargain for. The decision has been taken and the other Clubs have already got what they want.

If he votes No, or abstains, he either forces them to produce a new proposal, or to make concessions external to the proposal as a precondition for his support for the proposal.

What makes less than no sense is to give the impression to Thistle and ICT that you are voting No when in fact they are going to have no power anyway because you’re going to vote against them?

How do you work that out? I'm sure I read there is about 7 - 8 million left to distribute between the 42 clubs. Most of the other money has been given to clubs throughout the season in installments. They got a payment only a few weeks ago.

Oh I was going right back to the start to confusing otherwise

That's what I actually meant. I've been through it too many times trying to work out what's happened that I'm meeting myself coming back now.

Why to folk talk about the SPFL as if it’s an unaccountable entity?  It’s not.

Exactly

The much maligned SPFL Board is made up of reps voted on by the member clubs and includes Stewart Robertson from Rangers so in effect, Rangers , Ann Budge and others are attacking themselves. 🤪

Because they announced the votes at 1700 on Friday night even when all votes hadn't yet been received, that's like announcing general election results when they still don't have a couple of constituencies votes, it doesn't happen.

This opened to the floodgates for clubs being flung under the bus and all sorts of accusations and false rumours to start flying about. With the current sporting news being thin on the ground for obvious reasons you would have thought someone at the SPFL would realise this would get the whole Scottish sports journals interest allowing for the quick spread of fake news and leaks.

That's nonsense. Given the interest generated and the fact that the 5pm  deadline requested (albeit clubs have 28 days) was well known they released the voting result as it stood at around 10 to 6. Not their fault that sobe clubs hadn't replied by then. There would've been the same amount of interest, speculation and rumours had they said nothing. Daft to suggest otherwise.

"As of 5pm, the SPFL can confirm that the threshold for approving the proposal has not yet been met. Legally, Clubs may vote at any time within the 28 day period provided for under the SPFL's Articles of Association. Since yes votes are not revocable, the SPFL will provide a further update if and when the necessary threshold has been met. Otherwise the proposal will lapse after the 28 days."

Where’s that from? Hadn’t seen that yet.

No not necessarily. Dundee's would come.from a different email address than the others, have they scanned the vite at a higher resolution meaning a larger file, have they used the wrong file type and one which may be considered more likely to be compromised etc. There are a variety of reasons why.

I reckon Nelms attached a picture of a massive cock on which he’d written Neil Doncaster is a ^ to the email. Thus it got caught in the porn filter.

What I don’t understand is why the SPFL would take any notice of Dundee’s ‘don’t count our vote plea’ once they finally received the vote ‘no’ doc down the piece of string. As SD has said 10 times you can’t go back in to the polling booth once you’ve voted, or recall a postal vote.

Unless it suited them of course.

The voting slip/accompanying rubric pictures seem to suggest that it is only votes in favour of the proposal that cannot be revoked.

So Dundee voting No or abstaining could have changed to each other or to a Yes at any time in the following days, provided the proposal did not expire at 28 days.

An alternative statement that would have been more appropriate than publishing the results of an incomplete ballot.

Fair enough! Totally lost with it all and will genuinely believe anything can happen now

This thread is nearly as compelling as when Rangers died. Only to be told they had miraculously survived as there was some club/ company pish. The common denominator in both these clusterfucks is..... Cockwomble.

Don't see how Dundee can change their vote now. How do they, with a straight face, claim that without any other influence that they have persuaded themselves of the merits of the SPFL case. Can just see Drysdale on tv, trying to make that comment while gently nudging a giant swag bag of cash off screen with his heel.

Surely we can expect a nice email to the board at 905am tomorrow reiterating their original intent so that we can all move on to the next level of this shit show.
