The default position is that there's a right of appeal (so back to the Court of Session) in the event of a legal error (which, if the result goes against Hearts/Thistle, there inevitably will be). And the error in law? M'lud we lost.

If either side doesn't like the outcome they would have to come up with some reason why the arbitrators were wrong in process or law, rather than just re-arguing the merits of the case.

The SPFL won the main argument - the case is being referred to an SFA arbitration panel, rather than staying in court (which is what Hearts/Thistle wanted). Theoretically it could come back to court after arbitration, but that seems unlikely. Hearts/Thistle won a secondary argument about the release of documents, i.e. the SPFL will have to hand over relevant emails and phone records for that arbitration. I'm assuming this is one of the reasons for having three arbiters (one chosen by each side and one by both) - to lessen the likelihood of any decision being challenged?

It’s a list of all the teams that voted against reconstruction, so that Hearts know who they can’t loan players to in the future

In the latter, an agreement between the parties is sought. In arbitration, a decision is taken by the arbiter.

Not sure if they can force people to hand over their phones with text messages and whatsapp conversations etc. Seems a bit intrusive in a civil issue.
djchapsticks
Like Viagra for the fucking soul - especially that last bit. Especially since a chopped off goal and no-score draw would have still left them bottom and DOON. Plus it wasn't fucking offside either......it was a lovely wee hand ball.
