What Artwork Do You Have In Your Home?

Recommended Posts

We're in the middle of renovating our house and I'd love to have Jean-Michel Basquiat artwork everywhere but the wife says it won't go with the "shabby chic" look she's going for.

What have you lot got on your walls?

No flying ducks or B&M silver/gold attempts at 'modern art' please.

Not much on display, other than an old photo of The Cross in Kilmarnock and my certificate for a brick at RP - walls are apparently for family photos.

Plenty of albums with cracking art on them, mind - no matter what you think of Yes or Budgie, Roger Dean turned out some arresting images.

Manchester smart-arses 10cc had a few Psygnosis covers as well:

..as did Pink Floyd*.

I've loads more, and I've always been a big fan of Albums as a total package. When I first got DSOTM and found it came with a poster, the stickers with Venus and Mars by Wings (TBTBCHB), the posters in the White Album - all lovely wee additions. Custom inner sleeves, lyrics, fold-outs like the Giger cover on Brain Salad Surgery - a joy that is gone forever. I even have a copy of "In Through The Out Door" which has the "magic painting" inner sleeve as well as the plain brown bag outer cover.

* Rumour had it that when you first slit the black plastic to get at the album, a whif of the odour of roasting flesh would be given off.

You never thought of buying album frames and sticking them on the walls? I've got a ton of vinyl with some tremendous artwork and I'd do that if the missus was having it.

Hold on a minute, I've just realised I'm merely a lodger in my own home.

Bought this online from Spain, I think the artist was from Valencia.  It’s called Urban Landscape

This is an original canvas from a Dundee artist Jack Morocco.  Part of a series he did.

I bought this on the edge of Red Square about 30 years ago for $20.  Original watercolour, the local artists were fantastic.

I'm in the process of boxing up for an inevitable eviction once the moritorium ends, as such it's only a few pieces left hanging.

I've got stuff from Banksy, Mason Storm, John Doh, Pahnl, Catch22, Cherie Strong, Snub and many others.

I'll post a few pics below.

These pics are from the old house actually but it contains some really nice ones
