Dundee United will have spoken to as many as 20 candidates by the time the club makes its decision early next week about who will replace Robbie Neilson as manager.

The club admitted yesterday it was taken aback by “the sheer diversity” of coaches who had shown an interest in the job. The SFA director of performance, Malky Mackay, remains a contender for the position but the club will not be pursuing Tommy Wright.

So Tommy declined an interview.

I think it would be a huge mistake not to go for Malky.  

 

I really hope you don't get him.  Can see why the more woke wouldn't want him. And I hope they get their way.  

 

From my perspective, as a St Mirren fan, I'd be far more worried about playing Utd if he was in the dugout.

Dont worry, I doubt he'd verbally assault you from the touchline without being caught out again. I really dont think hes that silly. Well...

Plus his abuse would be drowned out by the rip roaring atmosphere at your stadium with the 1500 odd support we'd bring. You dont have to travel to Tannadice either. 

Luckily for us all it's looking like he wont be appointed. Win win.

I honestly don’t know if I could bring myself to write anything about Mackay. Always try and hit a positive tone when writing about a new signing or appointment but christ it would be tough.

I’d maybe just give up the blog completely, that’d be easier!

No offence Stu, but nobody wants to read that article either.

Hopefully nobody has a reason to combine the words Dundee, Malky, United, Mackay, delighted, Manager and announce.

Unless its Dundee announce Malky Mackay as Manager. United delighted.
