One thing about GG is that in his career he’s never really taken anyone with him.  Normally prominent MPs have loyal constituency allies or people that work for them, I don’t think Galloway has anyone from his days in Dundee or Glasgow campaigning and supporting him when he stood in Bethnal Green or Bradford. When he was in Parliament he wasn’t a member of the Campaign Group or any other groups, I think they all clocked him for what he was.  Obviously he exploited sectarianism in his subsequent elections but in both Bethnal Green and Bradford he lost heavily at the next election, voters worked him out as well.

You’re not wrong.

Quick look on his Wiki election results since he left Scotland originally isn’t exactly great and reading into some of these he apparently loved a good smear campaign directed towards his opponents

The Scottish Parliament result though…… terrific

I thought his current party, The Workers Party of Britain was an old thing like the Workers Revolutionary Party. Turns out he formed it in 2019 with an ex member of UB40 who has since died. I think there's only him and one other person in it, organising it anyway.

Consistency is the last thing I’d expect from him but his support for an independent United Ireland and his opposition to Scottish Independence is totally incompatible.

Just had a look there and I see in the Highlands in the election last year, All 4 Unity finished behind Alba, the Scottish Family Party and didn't get even half as many votes as Andy Wightman.  What a sickener for ol' George.

You’re thinking about the Socialist Workers Party which is predominantly and English Party that has a lot of Labour Left in it from the time Galloway was active in the party. You’ll probably never believe this but they told him to bolt haha.

They produce a weekly newspaper called The Socialist Worker and there was a big section about it at the time.

That legal action against Twitter must be starting any day now

And yet there he is, still, absolutely unable to f**k off as long as all those marks are still following, showering him with attention and just asking to have their pockets dipped.

KRW Law challenge over George Galloway Twitter Designation
 Apr 09, 2022
We are instructed on behalf of George Galloway, who is a well-respected politician, author and political commentator.  He is the leader of the United Kingdom registered “Workers Party of Britain” political party.

Our client is well-renowned for his independence of thought and opinion. He has never accepted or been subject to any control, editing, interference or other restrictions upon his right to freedom of expression, to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas. He also holds the strong belief that pluralism of the media should be respected by himself and others.

Our client is the account holder of the “blue tick” and verified and personal account or handle “George Galloway @georgegalloway” (hereafter “the Twitter Account”).

The Twitter Account has operated for many years and has a substantial following and reach worldwide, particularly throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Twitter Account currently has more than 410,000 “followers”.

On 6th April 2022, Twitter International Unlimited Company (hereafter “Twitter”) as the publisher of content and the data controller for all personal data on Twitter processed outside the United States of America applied a designation/label to the Twitter Account:

“Russia state-affiliated media”

Our client entirely disputes that he is “Russia state-affiliated media” and provides notice of his intention to institute proceedings against Twitter for breach of his personal data rights defamation/libel and harassment.

The application of the label is unlawful both as a matter of data protection law and otherwise unlawful being defamatory/libellous, an intrusion into our client’s private life because it is a serious attack on his personal/professional integrity and reputation and because the application of the label interferes with his right to freedom of expression through censorship

Solicitor Kevin Winters of KRW LAW Defamation and Social Media Law Dept said:

“Twitter have badly miscalculated here in assigning this dreadfully harmful designation to Mr Galloway’s account. Whatever strategic political or other reasons were in play in making this decision has only served to galvanise his fight to protect his good name and reputation.

His reasonable request to remove this offensive and damaging Designation was ignored by Twitter That’s simply unacceptable and inexcusable. Everyone knows George has robust political views and isn’t shy about expressing them but that doesn’t entitle Twitter or anyone else to demonise him in this way.

I can confirm that we have put Twitter on formal notice today of our intention to issue High Court  proceedings within 7 days unless we receive terms satisfactory to Mr Galloway.”

Aye right.

Surely the legal proceedings into the Scottish Election are taking priority?

Twitter will wipe the floor with him

It's a Belfast ambulance chasing firm, there's no way they'll go near a High Court against them. George is just hoping Twitter ban him so he can play the martyr for truth and replace his RT money with Yankee nutters crowdfunding.

He's cosied up to every other dodgy fecker so he may as well cosy up to The Donald and get on his alternative to Twitter...

Think Trump's thing has died a death but he's already put feelers out for new donors on Telegram.

Galloway's Twitter is/was absolutely wild.  Dozens of tweets every day and retweets from that Nawaz guy who wouldn't get the booster jab and that zoomer James Melville.  He's like your Ukipper uncle who's brain has been frazzled by Facebook and Infowars.

The Churchill loving bits as well now, maybe after moving to the Borders and the love in with his Unity party full of BritNats has fried his brain too. He has gone from Lochee Harp, Dundee United, Celtic, Glasgow, Ireland, Palestine, to now all that with a bit of Farage, Brexit, Churchill and the British Army!

Odd.
