Yet again Scottish football shooting itself in the foot with the Gov and wider public. No apologies, no accepting responsibility. "It's all a big conspiracy from the Government" Give me fucking strength. Honestly!! This is not Scottish football. This is on one club and one club only.

There is a hard core that think (like Lennon) this is all an anti-Celtic Government driven attack (to deflect headlines from the Salmond story, Covid rates etc.) In a Trump like world there is an even more hard line train of thought that it is actually an anti-Celtic and anti-Catholic SNP driven agenda. Most Celtic fans see him as having driven the squad in to the ground and he needs punted now along with Lawell.
San Starko Rover
Holy shit what an absolute meltdown that rivals anything the Blue side of Glasgow have given us since 2012 [emoji23]. Typical Neil Lennon, always the victim and it’s everyone else’s fault. You have to love a club that’s won 9 in a row including last years shortened season, won the last 12 trophies trying to claim everyone’s against them. You honestly couldn’t make that up. As for blaming the Scottish Government, unless Nicola made you go to Dubai it was Celtics fault everyone could see it was a terrible idea. Kerrydale Street is a good read just now no the reaction I think he’s hoping for a complete mixture of anger and embarrassment with very few agreeing with Lennon.

RandomGuy.
In all seriousness, Lennon should probably be sacked tonight. He's had mental health issues in the past and that meltdown looks like he's absolutely gubbed. He needs taken out the public eye, and relieved of all pressure, for a bit to sort himself out.
Shadow Play
The funniest part of the interview has to be Lennon saying “HINDSIGHT’S A WONDERFUL THING”. Yep, who could have possibly foreseen that bundling your entire first team squad (including injured players) into a bus, plane and hotel so that they could spend way more time together than necessary could lead to problems? All the clubs that are actively trying to avoid players being in too much contact with each other are simply out of touch!

And it didn't take a lot of foresight to foresee this.
gaz5
Surely no one can be that stupid? It's this him having a pop at Government in the hope that they shut the whole show down because he thinks the chances of null and void and another crack at 10 next year are higher than his chances of catching The Rangers 2012 this season? Melanius Mullarkey
To be fair, Lennon getting punted followed by the fitba getting stopped would be #scenes.
welldaft
What I will say is that Celtic have had to field a very weakened team in their last two fixtures. St Mirren and Kilmarnock can play full strength sides next month v Motherwell and Hamilton. They should have said we cannot fulfil the fixtures and taken their token fine.. I am fairly certain there will be no responses on the above....incoming....

G51
Here's a bit more of the interview. Grasses in St Johnstone and Hamilton for having small dressing rooms.

My schoolboy arithmetic tells me that their per 100,000 rate is over 3333. If Celtic were a town with that rate, they'd be getting a Simpsons-esque dome put over them. VictorOnopko
"and by the way, it's illegal to take photographs in Dubai without someone's consent..." Getting to the core of the issue there, I would say.

This is what happens when your half-back line is Hubris, Arrogance and Entitlement. Celtic have long traded on their 'specialness' and many of their fans have bought into the sanctimonious myths which have swirled forth. The bigger criticism is not of the ill-advised trip to Dubai per se, but at the dire attempts at justification and the subsequent attempts whataboutery which have surfaced. Even Lawell's contrition smacked of a six-year old wean's response to having been telt. Astonishingly amateur stuff all round.
Louis Litt
If celtic have any integrity (I know right) they'd come out and distance themselves from his comments about his players having to isolate. He's undermining track and trace which is actually a dangerous point to be putting out for someone in the public eye.
