Betfred Cup - Group C

Recommended Posts

The game against Brechin last year was an absolute cruise and like @PauloPerth says, a comfortable afternoon would be good. We were 4-2-3-1 that evening and Brechin couldn't really get out at all.

The three can only really be O’Halloran, Conway and Wotherspoon and surely it'll be Davidson and Bryson as the two, as both need games. Playing Liam Craig achieves nothing.

Likewise, Booth needs another game and guessing that Kerr is maybe sitting this one out and Gordon playing then.

The striker will be interesting. May didn't play on Wednesday, Hendry badly needs a goal but Kane probably needs another chunk of minutes.

Thought it was interesting that two younger players (Denham and Ferguson) were named on bench against Kelty rather than Munro and Northcott, especially the latter. Has he fallen out of favour?

Maybe it’ll be Kane again as he seems keen to get him up to speed.

I remember the last Brechin game. Wasn’t that when May was meant to have signed? Ah the excitement!

That was when I thought Kyle McClean was going to be ahead of Ali McCann in midfield and I thought looked more promising.  How wrong I was!

Quick look at Brechin shows their LW doesn't track back at all, so having MOH isolated against their LB should happen.

Rooneys raw pace will allow him to gamble going forward as he can get back after counters.

No MOH

Guess that means Conway and Wotherspoon on the wings then?

Not sure we have anyone else.

Is goal difference going to come into play in the group?

I think 9pts virtually guarantees you progression tbh, so beat Brechin and Peterhead by any score and we should be grand.

Guess that confirms that O’Halloran is either injured or Davidson has finally given up on him. Not going to lie, he’s had enough chances with several managers now to show his worth to the team, but other than pace, he shows very little game intelligence or dare I say commitment to the teams cause and gameplay to warrant a new deal, let alone start games.
