Michael McGlinchey - Came in on loan from Celtic, didn't really do anything at all, didn't rate him. Would play in a world Cup within two years and later be in the a league team of the year. Craig Easton - Came in during our shite premier league season, better than Paul Burns at least. Bernardo Dominguez - Spanish keeper who we payed a wedge to sit on the bench behind Chris Smith. Iain Turner - Came in to try and replace Smith, got injured. Ivan D'Angelo-Came on trial with Faiss, Italian, played a few games. Scott Robinson - Came in on an amateur contract? Had 2 games, ended up eventually at Livi where he's done very well.
D'Jaffo
Justin Thomas - Striker on loan from Burnley in our last relegation season. Played a handful of games, didn’t score and went back home after being told he wouldn’t start games. Edit: Shows how forgettable he was that I got his name wrong. It’s Jamie Thomas apparently.

Also Derek Ferguson. Sent to us as a punishment by Souness, to show him how bad life could be. Very classy player. Robertson described us as the worst fans for getting on players backs in Scotland. I’m still proud of that. Kevin Radcliff was another belter as someone else pointed out. Turned up almost at the lowest point in his battle with alcohol addiction. Claimed later he was so smashed he has no recollection of the brief experience in Dundee.
Hursty
Neil McNab. Only sticks out as it's one of the first times I remember someone getting absolutely fucking slaughtered by the fans on the North Terrace when I was 7 or 8. All came flooding back to me recently when the name came up in an article I read online and turns out he had played hundreds of games at a decent level down south. Alert Mongoose
The premise of this thread is slightly unusual. Surely everyone has remembered these players to able to name them?

He could only have played 3 or 4 games but he was an absolute level above anyone else we had. I'm positive Ratcliffe came on a subbie in the 4-3 win over the h*** in the Stainrod season.
smpar
Jim Paterson. What a fucking batshit mental season that was. I still maintain he holds some kind of record for the most balls punted over the hedge in one single game at Brechin.

He seemed like a tidy player but left after about 4 games.

Stephen Hughes was worse.Signed on a short term contract by Hartley in January 2014 having been at East Fife for the first half of the season. Played 45 minutes away to Falkirk and was so shite that he was subbed at half time and told by Hartley in February that he wasn't what we were looking for - he ended up back at East Fife.

Yeah, I think we won that game 1-0, one of only two away wins that season I think. The burgundy kit was to mark our centenary year with gold along the side.

I could have sworn Steve Archibald played a game for us as well (at Firhill?) but I can't find any proof . Perhaps I imagined it! Albiston was one of the long line of Stainrod signings that turned up out the blue. I think his only game was against Falkirk. Albiston was up against Richard Cadete and got rode rotten. Stainrod got sacked and Albiston retired the following week.
Hank Scorpio
According to Wikipedia we signed a player called Stuart Anderson in 2012, and he played for us 43 times. I went to a fair amount of games that season, and I usually have a pretty good memory for former players but I have absolutely zero recollection of him whatsoever. He must’ve been a particularly grey shade of beige.
diegomarahenry
Ayr must have one of the highest percentages of former players going on to international management. Ally MacLeod Michael O'Neill Colin Miller George Burley Alex Ferguson Richie Williams was assistant to Bruce Arena and U18 coach at the US https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/club/bios/richie-williams

I'm amazed he played as many as 43 games, but he just did nothing. Nothing good, nothing bad. He just existed in central midfield, filling a jersey, causing no effect.

Aye, he's a Greenock guy and he made his breakthrough at Morton. He only played a handful of games for us before we sold him to Spurs for, I think, a decent fee. He played for a few clubs in England, his best spell was a long time spent at Manchester City.

Didn't appear after that.
Highland Capital
A few more I forgot (no, really!): Curtis Allen - a Northern Irish striker we signed from Coleraine and wound up signing with us despite being linked with Swansea. He arrived to training a couple of weeks too late as he'd booked a holiday and never even made the bench. Saw him play in a reserve match and he was pretty fat and absolutely rubbish. Returned to Ulster to sign for Glentoran as he was "homesick". He was interviewed in the P&J recently and said he reckons he could've made it in Scotland. Absolutely no chance. Kieron Gibbons - English central midfielder on loan from Blackburn (I think). Vaguely remember him coming on once but little else. Aidan Chippendale - Winger on loan from Huddersfield. Ran fast but that was it. Seemed to have done the rounds of the English non-league since. Ben Jackson - English striker who never made it on the park. Have vague recollections of him warming up but left with a bad injury. Nick Ross Draper - A goalie who never played. We had Nick Ross, we had Ross Draper, I can only assume we signed this guy for a laugh. Tom Parratt - An Invernesian full-back who'd grown up in America. Only played once in a cup match. Became a regular player for Accies afterwards though. Alex Cooper - Only thing of note was a goal against Brechin...in the season everyone scored against Brechin!
