That's so naive. Most Americans - most people - vote for themselves, not for marginalised people.

Most Americans are marginalised, so they would be voting for themselves.

Look at how popular Bernies policies are in America every time they’re polled. This is a no brainier. Stop fielding shit candidates with shit policies and you’ll stop getting shit results. Twice now America has tried the centrist route and twice its blown up in their face (even if Biden wins, he’s horrendously underperformed)

Biden still just on course in Georgia. Half an hour ago he needed 63% of the remaining votes, that's now down to 62.6%. Most of the votes come from counties around Atlanta he's currently leading with 72% to 85%.

Georgia would be a huge win, because he should be able to get it today and without much scope for challenge. If he could squeak home in Wisconsin the scope for legal challenge is very poor.

If other states are flipping that were more difficult to do than Wisconsin and Michigan it should work out OK in the end but obviously we'll have to wait and see to be 100% confident on that. It was somewhat surprising that Trump wanted Arizona to be counted to completion, because it complicates his narrative elsewhere.

Yeah, CNN’s tone has changed a bit because of Georgia. It’ll be tight either way but I’d say Biden is sneaking it in Georgia & Michigan, IF postal votes go at the ratios expected.

Added to Arizona that would get him the magic 270, I think, regardless of what happens in PA and WI which are similarly tight. Real banter if it ends up 270-268.

Watching CNN and I'm pretty sure that whatever the American version of P&B is (Hot Dog and Bucket of Coke?) must have a very busy thread titled CNN bias.

They fucking hate Trump as much as BBC hates Sturgeon and don't even attempt neutrality.

TV channels in the US are far more partisan.  I give you Fox News.

Difference is neither is publicly funded.

We are absolutely watching a cult of personality in full action here.

Such actions throughout history by Hugo Chavez, Robert Mugabe, Gudaffi has been met with absoulte and unapologetic condemnation from America.

They have blindly wandered into a dictatorship and those who voted for him, did so in large part because he was the man to 'protect their freedom'.

Proud Republicans will quote their 2nd ammendment right as the last line of defence to rise up against a corrupt dictatorship government. Yet they are so stupid that thry don't see it happening, the very scenario written into the constitution that allowed them to have guns is unfolding right in front of them and they actively endorse it!!

Say what you like about Venezuela and Chavez generally, but in four elections which were considered free and fair by international observers he won comfortably and any constitutional changes were passed by referenda, which were similarly judged to be free and fair with some endorsed by landslides, and one seeing him accept the result when he lost 51-49.

Obviously a massive cult of personality going on and we're talking about a guy who'd led a failed military coup before entering electoral politics so of course you don't have to look far for authoritarian tendencies even before considering everything that's happened since his death, but he still had more democratic credentials than the Donald where elections are concerned - he never tried to brazenly disqualify legitimate votes like this.

Can you blame them? He’s spent 5 years slagging them.

None of that ever matters in real elections. There's no way someone like Saunders would have done better in Pennsylvania, the Upper Midwest, among Latinx voters or among black voters than Biden. Trump is the ultimate shit candidate with stupid policies and he might be about to be re-elected.
