What’s the going rate for a manager in the Championship?

Doesn’t matter anyway in this instance as the club have already said that, in the short term at least, the assistant manager will be in charge, assisted by three senior players.

It's just as well money is the biggest constraint because that's level of braying moron we'd be choosing from otherwise.

Haha.

Managerial candidates at this level are very rarely inspiring at the best of times.
The choices are usually between braying morons and clueless fuckwits.

So long as your braying moron is better than the ones at two other clubs, that is  all you need this season, in particular.

Hopkin was on 80k a year plus bonuses

£80k a year seems steep for a Championship manager when the rest of the squad are unlikely to be on anymore than £22-24k a year.

Don’t understand why the Morton fans weren’t demanding cut backs months ago. God forbid the worst happens but you’ll get all the support from me that we got from Morton fans.

We were told the extra 10k a month the club were getting from MCT was 'topping up the budget' but it appears that it was, in entirety, the budget, and Rae and GC have actually contributed nothing.

That said we have all been baffled for months at the state of the squad. No need for a 20+ man squad for 27 game season when money was tight. If it was a 17-18 man squad including a 2nd fucking goalkeeper I think that would have made more sense but Hopkin was allowed to assemble the current mess and has apparently walked away leaving the fans group to pick up whatever pieces Rae leaves us in March.

It’ll be Millar & McAlister. We’re not going out and getting a new manager when we a) “can’t afford it” and b) have new owners in 6 months. I can’t imagine anyone decent would go anywhere near the job at the minute anyway. We just need to try and keep our head above water.

Not a chance.

It will.
