Motherwell v Dundee United Nil

Recommended Posts

3-0 the Steelmen.

Utd to sit back and blooter the ball at a dejected Shankland and McNulty, lose out on every second ball and concede from at least 2 free kicks from inside Motherwells half. None of which is like us, right enough.

Mellon to go with

                       Benji

  Connoly Edwards Reynolds

Smith                                Robson                          Fuchs Clark Butcher                                           Shankland McNulty

is this on wed? and what time is KO?

It is supposed to be and 6pm.

Problem is the forecast is fairly unrelenting in terms of rain and snow for this week.

Last thing we need after a win v Ross County is this game to be postponed and our next to be v Celtic at Parkhead.  I know that should hold no fear anymore but this is Motherwell.

As Ropy alludes to we should have probably had a win and a draw and yet we have a loss and a draw.  Some payback required.  Does not mean it will happen however !

I have the fear about this. I think Dundee United are absolutely dreadful but as long as I've been supporting Motherwell they've always seemed to have a weird Indian sign over us and I can totally see them taking another 3 points off us.

Edit-  thinking back I may have slightly exaggerated with the Indian sign patter, but regardless I think close games between us and United tend to end up as 1-0 or 2-1 wins for them

I see Mellon is going back to Plan B and trying to sh1tfest their way to a win rather than the open expansive football they have been playing recently.

In all seriousness that will probably work against us.

I guess Polworth will slot back in for Crawford and the rest will be as started the Ross County game even though we could theoretically pick around a dozen teams 😎 after the window.

Not much between the teams but hoping we can get the win as a little payback for a couple of unjust (in well fans eyes) results from earlier in the season.

I assume we will be able to make 7 or 8 substitutions as that will be the same proportion of our squad as the other teams get.

Mellon has a Plan B?  Didn’t even know he had a Plan A!

Speaking to a Dee today who was floating the prospect of a local derby in the playoff.  An unedifying thought.

Think I'd have Robson on the left of the 7 across the middle, but apart from that, you're pretty much spot on.
