People take red dots way too seriously.

I agree but I also think folk who go around red dotting posts constantly is absolutely tragic behaviour. Even more so folk with alias accounts who sign up specifically to do it.

Some people are coasting. Could bring it back for New Years to give everyone some festive cheer.

Coming out with that sort of s**** would have you on the Worst Posters List right away...

I'd absolutely love to see someone who does it sit in front of their family and friends and be asked to explain it, with follow up questions.

Particularly bigoted morons who try to hide behind other teams

To be fair, being sat down and asked anything about this website in front of your friends and family would be pretty embarrassing.

I'd take a hard line approach, find out their IP Address and have them shot. Fair enough we may not always get the correct person but it will teach them a lesson

When I talk to my friends about things on here, the follow up questions usually are passed by and straight to "your wee Internet pals, aye?".

Also, whatever Aberdeen fan won 40 Freddos aff Div, we have a friend in common.

While it is probably a sign of the forum being less toxic I do miss the days when someone complaining about getting red dots would result in a barrage of red dots hitting that post

I still do it some of the time. Depends on the poster. But sometimes I jump in too soon and no one follows and I look like a dick. It only works if we're all pulling in the same direction.

It's been about 15 years since I last signed up to a forum to bam people up but let me tell you those were some of the best nights of my life. Cried real tears on several occasions. Me and a pal had about 3 or 4 accounts between us and shared the passwords and posted as each other. There are few things in this world that possess the ability to reach the spot that being an annoying little c**t reaches for me.

Someone once made an account on here with a play on my username and chose their supported team as my local team, made zero posts but red dotted my account loads.

I get the idea you can fall into a bit of an Internet rabbit hole and get in petty arguments but stalking someone's location and getting so personal is properly watchlist behaviour.

There's a poster on here who saved a picture of a poster who upset them to their personal photos and followed him around the site posting the picture.

The photo of the guy that was saved was when the poster was a fifteen year old boy. The guy doing the following was in his fifties or sixties.

I haven't got round to giving a red dot yet ,tend to just ignore any posts I disagree with. Do give out greenies if I agree or if they give me a laugh

You don’t know what you’re missing. Giving red dots out can be very cathartic. On the flip side, the feeling you get when making a post you know will rile people up (usually Falkirk fans) and when the red dots start appearing is like a shot of adrenaline.
