Did the Gardners not shut down straight after the bar staff walked out mid shift when some local crooks arrived and demanded protection money from them?

Because it's easy money for him.  He handles drugs for about 30 minutes and makes thousands upon thousands.

Could he throw a kettle over a pub?

They run this along side other legitimate businesses.

Aye that's the model. Make money from drugs and invest it into legitimate businesses.

The police will say drugs fund Bin Laden and shite like that as a distraction from the fact that it creates start up capital and liquidity for a fair proportion of provincial businesses. Drug dealers are allowed to operate because they are a fully integrated and vital part of the economy.

Has it been reported if the police told Welsh he was at risk of being murdered after his killer was grassed up a month prior to the shooting?

The two phones seized from Orman should be enough to jail all the major dealers. Might need to bring in police from elsewhere though to make that actually happen.

Two conflicting stories were put out (one saying he had, one saying he hadn’t been given the Osman) by the police and a police complaints investigation launched.

You're not that naive, surely?

No, hence the next sentence you omitted!

I spoke to someone recently who was inadvertently dragged in to a murky case and was told something jaw-dropping by one set of detectives about a couple of their colleagues. Don’t want Div to be machine gunned in his hot tub though so won’t say.

Apparently Orman had an Encrochat phone in prison. Encrochat phones were widely used by criminals to communicate using encrypted messaging. The system was cracked last year bubEuropean police forces and the information gleaned has lead to hundreds of arrests and seizures of millions of pounds of Drugs and weapons.

Some nice details there about Scott Brown getting a kicking which eventually lead to a square go in a Portobello cemetery after a funeral. Never saw that in the Sopranos!

Just to point out, the standard of English in that article is absolutely shocking. Random sentences that don’t make any sense and littered with spelling mistakes. Does proof reading not happen in the media?

The encro chat phone contained a stupendous amount of pornography too.

There were suggestions that the Ak47 attack on Kelbie’s house was staged to try and have his rival arrested.

The Record had a headline yesterday (altered eventually) proclaiming Kris Boyd had won a £2.4 pay out. I know times are tough but that didn’t seem newsworthy.

It's weird how this stuff continues to simmer away in the background, but unless you're unforunate enough to have been doing your weekly shop whenever one of these guys gets gunned down in an Asda car park, you wouldn't really notice.

East London used to be like that. My mum would send me the Dunfermline Press as one of her former pupils was usually on the front page for some crime. I’d send her the local paper and the first six or seven pages were stabbing, shootings, folk tied to a chair and dumped in the canal. One that stood out was four people being shot at lunchtime in a busy shopping precinct and there were no witnesses whatsoever. But in general, like you say, it was like a separate world.

Police have submitted a report to the Crown in relation to how they handled the evidence to them that Bradley was in danger.

They are also now suggesting they will pursue the other folk involved.
