scottmcleanscontacts
Shows how hard it is to get right for manufacturers, as I'd go black shorts with a black and white top every time. Looks far better. Should be white socks though. ^ Is much better than v I actually take your point but think it's probably worth pointing out that the Newcastle top above was white with black stripes and therefore suited the black shorts better.St. Mirren have recently been black with white stripes, so white shorts and socks would have been a better look.I know this sounds silly but it is definitely the case. There's a similar issue with Partick Thistle over the years. Their shirts work better when yellow is the predominant colour as opposed to red.

Not having that. The Aberdeen one is an absolute classic. If I could work my phone properly I'd show you our "sunburnt penguin" away shirt from, I think, 2009. Ooft.

I believe, although happy to be corrected as it might just be an urban myth, that the strip should be 50/50 rather than 'white on black' or 'black on white'. All to do with the White and Black Cart rivers that run through the area.

My Maw was from Paisley, however, and therefore I grew up on tales of people drowning in one of the Carts, amongst others. A wifey in a fur coat getting done in at Cochrane Castle also springs to mind.I digress. Generally always preferred St.Mirren tops when they are 'black on white' and without checking I'd say that historically they were. The other way round seems like a relatively recent phenomenon.
Ric
My favourite strip of ours was back in the 90s (I think then, maybe more recent) was an all black kit (top, shorts, socks) with the top having a paisley pattern embroidered into it.

Considering Kingsley, I feel your board are happy putting out "interesting" design choices.

Their stuff always looks like utter cheap guff.
DeeTillEhDeh
Yes we did. I can't remember much about it, only that it was an abomination that basically looked like a rejected proposal for a Rangers training kit. And still not as bad as the special edition Army strips.

djchapsticks
I managed to find the 4 home and 4 away options of the fan vote. Bear in mind this vote was back in December and we've not heard anything about it since. I voted option 4 for home and option 1 for away though I suppose I wouldn't be that offended if option 2 in either vote won through. Can't remember the away one though.
