ATLIS
This really is a very rare occurrence of a banter eclipse, both Old Firm sides going totally peak banter at the very same time.
Kapowzer
Rangers arguing over this = tin pot The SPFL agreeing to Cinch = not tin pot, the TV deal however £52k a match TV deal = uber tin pot
Sherrif John Bunnell
Apologies for The Sun link, but some Ibrox blazer has written to the 41 other clubs. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/7504868/rangers-stewart-robertson-letter-clubs-spfl-cinch-row/

Shhhhh it doesn't serve the narrative that the SPFL have it in for Ra Peepel to highlight the Rangers managing director himself is an SPFL higher up.

This bit: Given the possibility of Rule I7 being relied upon by members, did the SPFL Executive/legal advisors include a clause in the contract with cinch, which allows the SPFL not to provide rights to cinch where members rely upon Rule I7? If not, why not? Could be fired right back at them. "Given Rangers knew they'd have obligations to display a league sponsor's logo, why did they enter into a contract that could restrict their ability to do so. Did they include a clause that would allow them to do so? If not, why not?" Taking Rangers mewlings at face value, it does appear shitey conduct from the SPFL to not respond on their concerns. Looks like some turd sandwich v giant douche public feuding incoming. Looking forward to it.
Jamie_B
How did they manage when their shirt sponsor was a gambling firm, and the main competitions were sponsored by other gambling firms? They’ve still not said exactly what the conflict is here.
Charliedee
If rangers don't want to advertise the sponsors don't give them a penny of prize money.. I'm sure all the other clubs will welcome the money
Kapowzer
SPFL have a brass neck announcing it as a £8m deal when its actually £7.5m As a board member surely Robertson was made aware of the negotiations in advance of any announcement. If he didn't flag it, is it because he took it as a given that many clubs have motor trade tie ins and there's not any conflict? @Jamie_Beatson post covers, no issue in previous seasons so I think they'd have a hard time justifying it. Maybe he didn't bank on Dougie being so petulant. Look who's playing in the Carling Premiership ..... Ludo*1
The fact we're paying an agency £100k pa for each of the 5 years of this cinch deal is pretty pish too.

(FAO Rangers- making another organisation look as shite as yours is not "a win".)

Orbix
There’s been absolutely nothing to say it’s the Park’s link that’s causing the issue

Either that or they told Tomket Tires they wouldn't have any other sleeve sponsors, which would be daft considering having the league sponsor on your shirt sleeve is a fairly well-established tradition.

Mr Positive, sometimes.
