True enough - their last 2 games got washed out. Cove did same in 2017-18 as even delaying playoffs saw them still unfinished. Saturday 31st July 2021 Whitburn v Camelon Cup gets underway this weekend in deepest West Lothian.
HibeeJibee
Saturday 31st July 2021 Whitburn 0-2 Camelon Sounds a workmanlike victory for the visitors.
HibeeJibee
Usually this cup enjoys a Saturday in August for its opening ties before another rolls round in late November/early December... However with heavier focus on getting league games under the belts early this season, it is having to make do with sharing SPFL Trust Trophy's midweek now and South Challenge Cup R1's weekend next month, with a few other ties dotted around. Most attractive tie tomorrow is probably Spartans v Linlithgow. Dunbar v Leith also looks notably interesting while Pumpherston v Blackburn reunites local rivals separated for some years. There are several intriguing contests on Wednesday - particularly Luncarty v Dundonald and Syngenta v Glenrothes - whilst many will tip Inverkeithing and Jeanfield to surpass LL visitors. Tuesday 10th August First Round Bo'ness Athletic v Livingston United (7:45pm) Gala Fairydean Rovers v Rosyth Whitehill Welfare v Broxburn Athletic Second Round Bathgate Thistle v Craigroyston (6:45pm) Dunbar United v Leith Athletic Edinburgh South v Tranent Musselburgh Athletic v Stoneyburn Oakley United v Thornton Hibs (6:45pm) Peebles Rovers v Fauldhouse United (6:45pm) Preston Athletic v Burntisland Shipyard Pumpherston v Blackburn United (6:45pm) Sauchie v Crossgates Primrose Spartans v Linlithgow Rose Wednesday 11th August First Round Lothian Thistle HV v Hill of Beath Hawthorn Second Round Armadale Thistle v Easthouses Lily (6:45pm) Haddington Athletic v Heriot-Watt University Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts v Edinburgh University Jeanfield Swifts v Vale of Leithen Luncarty v Dundonald Bluebell (6:45pm) Syngenta v Glenrothes

Deanburn Dave
Anyone know when draw is?Still loads of 2nd round games to play. I know that the Gretna v the BU's game is not until 11th September.

Not that there's any rush though, even if the draw was made tomorrow night it would be unlikely that any fixtures could be scheduled for the 28th August (next date in the fixtures PDF) as there's still over a dozen 2nd round games to be played.
HibeeJibee
Spartans 1-3 Linlithgow Rose See there are highlights so no need for a long summary. Hosts had best of opening period, then visitors got on top, then hosts again before HT. However based on their 2nd half the visitors deserved their victory IMO and a pair of excellent goals delivered it.

Saying that, Rose looked good and deserved win>

Gala eventually made it past Rosyth. Pumpherston pressed Blackburn to extra-time and Stoneyburn pushed Musselburgh to penalties but Premier ultimately prevailed. Leith humbled Dunbar yet Dundonald blew away Luncarty. Absolute madness at Haddington.
Swifty
Whats the format for this cup? Play so many rounds and wos/sos/eos come together?

It's just for teams in the EoSFA which is why there are some Lowland League sides also in the competition.
Swifty
What does the "qualifying" part mean?

The winner and potentially others will go on to contest the East of Scotland (City) Cup against the EoSFA SPFL members. Although its only likely to be Edinburgh City and Kelty Hearts that compete from the SPFL these days. Basically this year's Qualifying Cup winners and finalist will go onto play another cup against Edinburgh City and Kelty Hearts.

It's equivalent to the Southern Counties Cup (for QotS, Stranraer, Dalbeattie etc. plus South of Scotland League clubs); or the North of Scotland Cup (for Inverness, Elgin etc. plus westerly Highland League clubs and North Caledonian League clubs) and so on. However there is a slight twist, as it is purely for Lowland League and East of Scotland League clubs - so the finalists "qualify" to join the lower-league SPFL clubs in the EOS Cup which for old historical reasons is known as the City Cup. At the moment this means Edinburgh City and Kelty. That's really just a bonus, and like winning the FA Cup qualifies you for the the Charity Shield or winning the Champions League qualifies you for the Supercup plus Club World Cup... Nobody is primarily wanting to win the FA Cup as a vehicle to winning the Charity Shield! Like those tournaments the City Cup is often held early on the following season, too. There is a similar arrangement in Renfrewshire... non-league teams play in the Victoria Cup and the finalists join Morton and St Mirren in the Renfrewshire Cup. Winning this cup is seen as a far bigger achievement and the final will attract a far bigger crowd. Also in my experience very few people habitually call it "the Qualifying Cup"; they mainly call it "the East of Scotland cup" or most commonly by its sponsor e.g. "the Image Printers Cup" or most recently "the Football Nation Cup" as it's had 2 or 3 long-term over last 30yrs.

They should rename it the East of Scotland Cup, if possible. That's a strong name, and the "qualifying" part makes it sound like the old qualifying cups for getting into the Scottish Cup. It makes it sound like a diddy competition when it's only behind the big Scottish and the South Challenge.
