DeeTillEhDeh
Can't really blame the coach when she was gesturing to him to challenge. British taekwonders are brilliant at losing the match in the last five seconds.Just felt it was a stupid challenge - Jelic was breathing out her arse at that point and it just gave her a breather.
doulikefish
Brazil v Argentina volleyball is on just now. Volleyball (beach or court) is the unofficial sport of Brazil and it's still national shame that Argentina beat them in this at the Sydney games.I was on a flight to Rio a few years ago when the men's beach team were coming back from the world championship and they hadn't medaled so there was protesters to meet them off there flight it was very bizarre

peasy23
Ffs, officials are doing great in Tokyo, this coming after somebody started the triathlon last night with a big f**k off motorboat blocking half the field.

Which then reversed into competitors who had jumped into the water. It's not an exaggeration to say it's a miracle no-one was killed. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/olympics/57965640 Edited July 26, 2021 by The Master
Guest
Just catching up with the diving after work. Used to be the sport for @The Naitch @Sooky and me to slever over but Tom Daley winning gold as probably the most visible out male athlete means so much. His speech was amazing, representation matters.
DeeTillEhDeh
That's terrible luck for Taylor-Brown in the Women's Triathlon - flat tyre on the last lap when she was in the leading group.Done amazing to get back to 3rd with the 10k run - reckon she may still finish second.

Looks like she’d have had a great shot at gold barring the flat tyre but the Bermudan lassie did run very well.
DeeTillEhDeh
Some run by Flora Duffy of Bermuda - totally destroyed the field on that 10k run.Even if Taylor-Brown hadn't had her puncture I think Duffy would have still won easily - she won by 74 seconds - the gap to Taylor-Brown was only 22 seconds at the start of the run - even taking into consideration the extra effort required to cycle that last 2km with the flat.
Bully Wee Villa
Flora Duffy was brilliant, the others were, understandably, looking exhausted and she looked like she could have just run another triathlon.

Bully Wee Villa
Smallest country, if you count it as a country, to win a Summer Olympic gold. Not the smallest to win an Olympic gold, though. That's Liechtenstein, who won two at the same Winter Olympics (1980), both by the same woman, Hanni Wenzel, in skiing. They're the only country to have won medals at the Winter Olympics that have never won one at the Summer equivalent, fact fans. peasy23
A gold and a silver in the men's 200 freestyle, but it wasn't the order Duncan Scott would have wanted as team mate Tom Dean pipped him. Dean had been right up there all the way through, but Scott came powering through on the final length and looked to be going ahead, but Dean managed to hang on to win by a bawhair. Edit: 0.04 seconds was the time gap between them.
