Throughout the pandemic, Thistle have been consistent in wanting to play. Indeed without Thistle's brokering an agreement between the clubs it's doubtful that Leagues 1 and 2 would have returned last season. Hindsight has certainly indicated that the correct decision would have been to shut down for the 3 week period of restrictions but at the time there was no guarantee that they would last just 3 weeks. Stopping and a further extension of restrictions being imposed could potentially have created serious fixture congestion. To say that Thistle, and the other clubs that voted to continue to play, are happy to play in front of crowds of 500 is just nonsense. Rather it was trying to determine what was the lesser of two evils. For what its worth, I think they made the wrong call but I understand the logic of it.

Casual Observer
The clubs that voted to continue took the 100% guaranteed chance they would playing in front of 500 ST holders with next to no income from these games bar a little hospitality return. The four clubs who voted to pause gave themselves a chance (size unknown but a chance) to play in front of unrestricted crowds - most of whom had already paid for ST’s last summer. The league is due to finish on Friday 29th April, then the playoffs commence. Between the beginning of Feb and then, there’s zero midweek fixture cards allocated bar a few rearranged games due to Covid/fog/waterlogged pitches round about Xmas. To claim fixture congestion is utter pish. The lack of will by those 6 teams to at least try and accommodate their own fans at later dated fixtures is pathetic when anyone can see there was plenty of scope in the lower league calendar to pause and resume. Hell mend them. Edited January 13, 2022 by Casual Observer

In terms of statements filled with hypocrisy and an embarrassing lack of self-awareness, this one doesn’t even break the top ten. Monkfish85
Really fancy Kilmarnock here. A lot could depend on the state of the pitch mind you
jagfox
Gutted not to be going tonight but actually getting a buzz for the match. Bookies have Killie as strong favourites, 6/5 and 2/1 Thistle. I feel our first 13 or so players are as good as any other in the league on their day so hopefully we can grab a win tonight.
Andy_K_97
How I wish I was leaving my work to go straight to the game this evening. Still, I'm quite excited to see how we line up and how we play this evening.

I assume it’s more of s 4-3-3 with Tiffoney and Smith wide. But apparently McCall has form for playing Crawford wide left, so who knows.

JagsCG
A 4-3-3 would the obvious assumption from that team, but you never know with McCall, a 4-4-2 with Smith just off Rudden might be the way he’s going. Good to see Banzo back.
